Friendly To The Environment

    View:
Many people use swimming pool heaters to enjoy the pool during colder month. But the cost of energy goes through the roof, so most people don't use their pool heaters all that often. Is there an alternative? Yes, there is - you can install a solar pool heater. This way, you get free energy of the sun and can enjoy your swimming pool without worrying about energy bills.

How a solar heater for swimming pools works?

Solar heater for a swimming pool works the same as gas or electric pool heater, except that the source of energy is the sun. Since the sun provides power for free, your heater works of its energy and doesn't need any other paid utilities.

The main part of a solar pool heater is the solar panels that are typically installed on your roof. You put them on a south-facing roof and you must have a clear path for power connections through the house to the heater. It is best that that the heater is no farther than 40 feet away from the panels to prevent energy loss. Installation of a solar heater is not all that difficult and most handy homeowners could install a solar pool heater themselves. If you are not up to doing it yourself, the company that sells solar pool heaters will always provide installation service.

Swimming pool solar heater initial cost

Solar heaters provide free energy and they are friendly to the environment, but there is a huge drawback - the initial cost. Even though solar heaters prices recently came down, solar units are still very pricey. Expect to pay a few thousand for a decent size solar heater.

Obviously, the bigger your pool, the more powerful solar heater you will need. For example, for a swimming pool, 15 feet by 30 feet, a solar pool heater would cost you about $2,000. Add another $1,000 for professional installation. The size of the solar swimming pool heater you want to buy depends on the size of the pool and where you live. Colder the climate, the larger heater you will need.

To make it easier for yourself you can install your solar pool heater a few pieces at a time, adding more solar panels later. At the start, your other utilities can also be used, for heating the water in your pool. Even by partially powering the pool's heater with a solar pool heater you can greatly reduce energy cost.

Good news is that American government encourages people to install solar heaters. You can get a tax credit worth 30% of the cost of your solar system. Combined with the fact that after the initial installation, there will be no paying for energy source, solar heaters for pools can save you a lot.

And if you enjoy your pool solar heater, you can later install solar water heater. This will serve all your household needs for hot water, without paying for the energy.

A solar pool heater can be a great addition to your home. For how long do you use your pool now? Two, three month a year probably, if you live in the northern part of the United States? With a solar heater you can add another month and a half before and after swimming season. Of course, a solar heater won't let you swim in January, but even extending your swimming season from 2 to 5 month is very beneficial.

You can really extend the usage of your pool with a solar pool heater. And not only it will eventually save you money, but you will help to save the environment.

Wallet Friendly/ Environment Friendly Tips

Conserve, Live Frugally, and Improve Your Quality of Life

You always thought going green wasn't for you until it started affecting your wallet. You are spending more money than imaginable on electricity, fuel, and food than ever before. Your family is burning through the groceries. It all falls out around the perfect time, when the economy is bad and you're unemployed. The stock market is horrible and you can't sell your house. The purpose of this article is to help you to conserve, live frugally, and improve your quality of life.

As a stay at home mother of two handsome boys and a wife, I have had to learn how to live my best life frugally and without indulgence. I have three ?bottomless pit? stomachs to feed, a large dog, and a husband who can't seem to stop running the air conditioner. On top of all of that, we are both college students and can only work part-time jobs. How do we do it all? I ask myself that everyday, but I hope that in this short report you will easily be able to save a realistic $100-$500 per month.

The money saving tips I can give for feeding those ?bottomless pit? stomachs without breaking the bank is to make a list and stick to it. Come up with some kind of meal plan as in what you will have for dinner Monday---Friday. Clip some coupons out of the newspaper, off of the internet, from the store, etc. Find a store that has a double coupon day and do all of your grocery shopping on that day. You may even receive some items for absolutely free on double coupon day. Make sure you have eaten a meal or had a snack to prevent impulse buying. Buy in bulk to prevent wasting too much packaging and so that it will last you longer. Stock up on the vegetables that are on sale and freeze what you don't use. We make our own baby food from these vegetables which save a ton of money. We put the baby food in ice trays and freeze the extra. It has been great for feeding the baby and saving money. To save money and to be environmentally friendly, we use a Brita pitcher for our water and do not buy the bottled water.

It is also important that you teach your family to conserve. There are a few easy things you can do. Limit milk drinking to dinner time for your kids and avoid eating cereal for breakfast every morning. You can also buy two gallons of milk at one time and freeze one of them. Let your kids drink water throughout the day or make your own juice with frozen fruit juice. Frozen fruit juice is much more affordable and you can stock pile it in your freezer. Limit drinking carbonated drinks to once a day and get the two liter bottles instead of individual cans.

It is also important to make sure you are turning off lights in rooms that you're not in and turning up the temperature on your air conditioner. This is a big struggle between my husband and I, but it is recommended that you put your thermostat on 78 in the summertime. We have been unable to adhere to that, but if you let your house stay a little cooler in the winter and a little warmer in the summer, you will see a big difference.

A lot of people are turning to alternative forms of energy to make their cost of energy fit into their budget. Some have solar panels placed on the roof or a windmill placed on a plot of land. The great things about these alternative forms of energy, is that it is a renewable energy source. It is eco-friendly as well as wallet-friendly. You can actually slash your bill by 80% with home-made energy sources. You can also earn royalties off of the extra electricity that your home made energy is producing. It sounds good to me!

Your best bet saving in fuel cost is to drive less. I know that is easier said than done, but don't drive unless it is absolutely necessary. Telecommute and get a car that more economically friendly. Trade-in your gas guzzler and get something that you can afford.

Evironment friendly/ wallet friendly tips will help your family to go green, save money, and enjoy your quality of life. You don't have to have expensive to be happy! You will save money and have money to spare! Have a happy life!
