The moral code we were taught in school which asserted that you go to school, then attend university, you get a job with a corporation and we retire at 65 with a pension plan and a gift watch from the company was an idea, an expectancy, a blueprint which went by the wayside as corporations went bankrupt, as colleges stopped effectively educating our kids to the extent that many graduates are functionally illiterate.
