Cable service providers passed up the opportunity to adopt these newer technologies into their service infrastructure and this led to the creation of a third higher level, of TV programming called satellite TV programming.

DirecTV and Dish Network are the two unchallenged leaders in satellite TV programming, because the visionaries who created then have been quick to implement new technological advancements as they have come available over the last two decades that they have been serving the public.

High definition TV programming is the latest futuristic development to come online and now the two bottom tiers of TV programming are falling even further behind as Dish Network and DirecTV make full use of all that it is.
