Gifts For Dog Owners

    View:
A dog is man's best friend. There is no better companion than a well behaved dog. But it is not easy to train a dog. The dog is born with some natural instincts and it takes months of practice to train a creature. Everyone wants a well behaved dog. It makes life very simple for all if our animals are well behaved and well maintained. There are several philosophies concerning dog training but it is vital to follow the best techniques that are suited for your dog.

Dogs are social creatures and live in packs. But when you are keeping a dog at home you are separating one dog from the pack. This is difficult for the dog to follow because this means that he will have live put of his natural instincts. The dog starts thinking about the family as his pack and loves the family equally. Since in the wild digs have hierarchy they should be shown the perfect place in the house. This will clear a lot of problems later.

Positive reinforcement is important for the dog. You must show that you accept him as a part of the family. This increases the courage of dogs and makes them more confidence. When dogs lick individuals it actually shows that they are affectionate about the person. But some people dislike excessive licking. You should curb the instincts of the animal early to stop the habit of licking. Dogs always want attention just like human beings. They need your time and love just like a child. They can be disheartened or angry if you do not give then the attention they crave for. Most puppies have the habit of pulling things or chewing shoes etc. This is a natural tendency of all dogs. This is especially true during their growing stage when their teeth are growing. They may also pull and tug at things for fun or to involve you in his life. But it is vital to make sure that he does not destroy precious things with chewing. This training should be given as early as possible.

Also remember that dogs are actually wild animals. They are born with the skills that help them to bite and tear things. It is natural for them to show the same tendencies in the house, without really having any intention of harming you. A biting dog can be a menace especially with small children around. Make sure that you give him excellent training to stop biting even playfully. All dogs are not similar. It is essential that you train them according to their instincts. Respect their natural instincts and try to change it slowly without confusing him. Also keep you dog healthy and fit. There is nothing like a fit dog. Give him balanced food and stop your habit of giving him everything that you are eating. All human food is not good for them. Also make sure that your puppy gets plenty of exercises.
Gifts For Dog Owners
Everyone loves their dog or they would not be a dog owner. However, sometimes not everyone shares in the same love and they may find your free spirit with your dog disrespectful, annoying, and obnoxious. Dogs are just like children, they will get excited and misbehave, and sometimes you have to treat them as you would a child to be respectful to your guests or hosts.

Visiting Family or Friends

If you tend to take your dog with you wherever you go, you probably usually take him or her with you to visit friends and family. Here are some tips before you bring your dogs with you to visit friends or family whether it is for a few hours or days.

- Not everyone is a dog person.

Even though you may feel that they will not mind, they just might not want a pet in their home. Some people are not as accepting of pets as you are so you will have to respect that in their home.

- Respect your host's home.

It may be okay with you if your dog chews up the couch, table chair or takes a bathroom break behind the television. Someone else will probably not find this acceptable and will become very upset with your dog and you that you allowed this to happen.

- Keep your dog contained, if needed.

If you have an hyperactive pup, you may need to either place him on a leash or bring a kennel with you. A hyper pup can be annoying and frustrating when your host is trying to visit with you.

- Ask where to take your dog to use the bathroom and clean up.

Be mindful of not only your host's home but also the property. Before you allow your puppy to use the bathroom on the nice green lawn, ask where to take him. If your pup poops, make sure you have some plastic bags to pick it up. No one, especially someone without a pet, wants to pick up after you pooch's mess.

- Do not allow your pooch to sleep on the bed.

This is fine in your own home but not in someone else's home. Many people do not understand the connection you have with your pet and do not want fur on their furniture. Make sure to bring a nice bed for your pup to sleep on the floor.

- Do not allow your pup on furniture.

Not only beds but all furniture such as couches and chairs. Especially if they have leather or even fabric where pulled threads could be possible.

- Most importantly, ASK before you bring your pet.

You can keep yourself a friend and keep your family happy if you just ask if it's okay to bring your dog with you to visit. Try not to get upset if they say that would rather you not bring him with you. Just decide whether you still want to visit and then make other arrangements.
