Give Your Lawn The Correct Amount Of Watering

    View:
If the footprints remain while you are walking around the lawn or a little change in the color to dark blue green for the pitch green and the grass blades seems to be folding, these are the signs that the amount of water of the lawn in not sufficient. More amount of water is needed to maintain the lawn in a lively condition and let it look beautiful. Lawn maintenance is necessary and is equally important.

Proper timing

The proper timing for watering your lawn is early in the morning and when the wind is not blowing. This lets the more amounts of water to get absorbed and in the even distribution. Water before the mid-day when the evaporation rate is the highest, in order to avoiding the lessen the water quantity.

Watering could be done in the evenings that would be good time to water your lawn. Most of the disease causing fungi require several hours of leaf wetness for the infections and the disease to occur, so do not let the encouragement grow.

Water amount

Excess of water can cause thatch, fertilizer leaching, increased disease or grass weed problems such as creeping bent grass, annual bluegrass, or rough bluegrass instead of green grass. Less water can cause shallow rooting of the grass and the lawn, which helps the lawn to susceptible to its disease, drought stress or the winter injury. Thus, proper amount of watering is necessary.

When the lawn wilts, wet the entire area to a depth of the measure of about 10-12 centimeters. The soil characteristic depends for the amount of water to be applied. The water needed approximately is of 2.5 to 4 centimeters and that is adequate for the lawn. The slopes, areas near the buildings, curbs, sidewalks, and soils need more amount of water. Proper maintenance of the lawn makes it look beautiful also pleases you.

Dry lawn special care

People drink water when they are thirsty and it goes same with the plants as well. Too many variables can enter the picture like light, wind, rain, temperature, humidity and the type of plants installed. Keep the plants moist for two weeks, water everyday if it does not rain at least a half-inch.

For the next two weeks water minimum three times per week or everyday if it is hot and dry. The owner needs to keep the new installation watered carefully for the first year. The plants should then be rooted in enough to withstand a little stress. Check them daily and water as needed. If these symptoms arise like wilting, which indicates root damage.

Always feel the soil to make sure it is not already too wet. If the plant is wilted and the soil is dry, water it. If it is still wet then let it dry out before watering again. Many plants merely fold up their leaves when they are dry and lawn grasses are excellent examples of this type.

Their leaves either fold like a book or roll like a newspaper. Some plants never wilt, fold or curl when dry but their leaves simply lose their rich green colouration.

How much to water?

Deep watering encourages deep rooting too. Shallow watering invites drought damage. Soak the soil thoroughly while watering and then allow it to dry slightly before watering again. The plants root system will grow downward in search of the moist soil.

Good watering equipment is one of the most important investments. Remember the requirements and whichever equipment one uses must distribute water uniformly and efficiently with a minimum of runoff and evaporation. Water well before chilly weather in the winter, dry plants is more likely to be damaged by freezes. Water the new lawn frequently and lightly at first, as its roots will be shallow and quite susceptible to extreme moisture.

Steadily reduce the frequency and increase the dosages. Once the seeds are well rooted, letting the soil dry to a depth of several inches will help the grass develop deep roots. Grass roots remain alive during the winter and a good soaking every few weeks can be the key to pulling the grass through in prime condition.
