The topic of office furniture is about as exciting as watching the grass grow to some people. Generally, these people see buying office furniture as a necessary evil which requires them to search through the numerous offering of different manufacturers to finally find that perfect piece that they've been looking for. While the topic of office chairs and other office furniture items might seem a little dull to the new shopper, there are plenty of ways to make it exciting. Yes. Exciting!
1) Let's start with Ebay. Guess what? Ebay is one of the largest (if not the largest) shopping experiences in the world right now (and probably into the near future). Ebay has grown massively during the last and it currently the largest used car dealer on the planet. How does this relate to office furniture? Simple. Office furniture can be bought on Ebay. And cheaply. I regularly buy items for 50% off on Ebay. Maybe someone had a business that didn't work out so well and now all their equipment is for sale on Ebay. Their loss is your gain. Why pay $800 for a new chair when you can buy one slightly used for $250? No brainer. Ebay is the way to go.
2) Don't buy more than you actually need. Office furniture is quite versatile. Buying a slightly larger desk can take the place of two smaller ones if you know how to arrange it properly. In fact, buying one large used piece of office furniture might cost only ΒΌ as much as 2 small new pieces. The key is to buy the best bang for the buck.
3) Look into leasing or renting office furniture. Now this is one good tip- I'm sorry to say I can't take credit for it myself. This is a fantastic way to keep your cash flow in your pocket while enjoying the benefits of a brand new office. New chairs, new desks, new everything: all for a very low up front price. The big thing to look out for here is to make sure that you are truly getting a good deal. To say there are conartists out there is a huge understatement. Read the fine print carefully and make sure that what you are paying is less than buying it outright. However, with a little bit of homework, it really isn't that hard to get a good deal by renting or leasing. Check it out.
Glass Top Office Furniture
What do you think of the word “office”? Perhaps you would conjure images of geeks and snubs, those who will never lift their heads to even greet you good morning. You would think of loads of paperwork and 8 hours of just facing the monitor, unless, of course, there are meetings. You would be wishing that lunches and breaks could be much longer.
A typical office is boring. However, there are actually a lot of ways on how you can change that and make your own job even more exciting. You simply have to incorporate these cool office gadgets:
Bacteria-killing LCD Monitor
LCD monitors have taken over CRT ones. After all, the latter are very bulky, and they do not look as sophisticated as the former. Moreover, you can find greater use with the LCD monitors, especially if you are going to get those that emit negative ions. PC Bank Korea has come up with PBM-978PS. This is an LCD monitor that releases such kinds of ions in order to kill the bacteria within your surroundings. This way, there is no reason that you would catch a cold or cough when you are in the office. It also has a wide angle for viewing, which makes it comfortable for you to look at the monitor. It relieves you of eye strain.
Desktop Bag
There are people who cannot separate themselves from their own workstations. If you are one of them, then this desktop bag is definitely the most ideal one for you. As its name suggests, it allows you to carry your desktop PC anywhere you go. It has the maximum capacity of 77 pounds and can fit medium to large towers. The shoulder belt is padded, so you can prevent strain. It also has snap attachment, so you can securely carry it with you.
Stress Balls
You may think that stress balls are not important, but they are. They are the ones who will relieve you of burnout. You can have fun throwing them to the wall or to your friends. You can squeeze them when you are already frantic or angry, so you do not end up screaming at your boss directly. Moreover, if you are not using them, they make excellent decorations on your table.
There are a lot of choices for your stress balls. If you love animals, you can get Pig, Alligator, Cat, Dog, and Shark stress balls. If you are an avid comic lover, you can purchase a whole set of Dilbert.
Portable Sleeping Cube
Whether you like it or not, those cups of coffee will not work sometimes. Your eyes will definitely shut off. Furthermore, when you are tired, you really cannot perform very well. Your motivation is at its lowest ebb, and your mind is somewhere else, such as in your bed.
With the portable sleeping cube, you will not have to ask for an excuse to leave work and go home. You can just find a corner where you can doze off (just make sure that no one will hear you snore). The portable sleeping cube can fit any body type and is very comfortable. When you are done using it, you can just tuck it someplace safe.
Stealth Switch
Do you think that your colleagues are really looking on Excel sheets and Word documents? Unknown to you, they are playing their favorite Windows and online games, but here is the problem: if they are too careless, their boss will surely catch them. They will be reprimanded or worse terminated from the job. If you do not want this to happen to you, get the stealth switch. It is a foot pedal that you can attach into your Windows and put on the floor. Every time your boss is around, you just need to stomp the pedal, and all your non-work-related windows will be hidden.
Portable Office Workstation
At first glance, this may look like a huge block with rollers. However, the moment that you are going to unlock it, it will reveal several spaces that can accommodate two workstations. This is perfect for offices that are battling with small spaces. You can also use this for your home. You do not have to commission someone to create a home office.
