The city has two major railway station, manchester piccadilly and manchester victoria. it's also servedby local and national bus & coach services, many of these services leave from the city's chorlton street coach station.



Manchester first came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became the world leader in production and textile manufacture. the city is really proud of its industrial heritage and a number of the mills that were in use during this time have been changed into flats & offices.

The city is also renowned for its commerce, science & technology. It boasts 3 universities and is well known as the home of the Baby computer, which revolutionised computing.

Although the city retains many fabulous Victorian buildings for instance the town hall and Central Library, it also has plenty of unsophisticated buildings. a number of these buildings were constructed after the city was bombed by terrorists in1996.

Manchester has many things to do, which contain occasionally wonderful galleries & museums, which are very fun to explore.

These include the museum of science & industry, which tells the history of Manchester's rich industrial history. Manchester is a excellent place for shopping fans with a wide variety of outlets that suit every taste. you will find designer stores like office and armani on the city's exclusive King Street, as well as larger department stores such as harvey nicks.

Bargain shoppers will be pleased to know that there are plenty of high street outlets on Market street. some of the busiest outlets are facelift, hmv and Game.

Manchester boasts great culture, which means that its a great location to visit for an evening out. From great restaurants to trendy wine bars & sleek clubs, there's something for everyone here.

You could start your night with a pint of real ale in one of the city's unusual pubs. alternatively, you can enjoy a glass of red wine or a yummy cocktail in one of Manchester's more classy wine bars. after this, you could go on to another cocktail bar or even to a night club, where you'll be able to dance away the evening. needless to say Manchester boasts a wide range of nightclubs, which means that you are certain to locate one that plays the music you like.
