Barely two months to go before the start of television's fall lineup and there are some initial interesting spoilers for the first episode of Grey's Anatomy's fourth season. When we last saw the doctors and staff of Seattle Grace, Isaiah Washington was still in the cast and his character, Dr. Preston Burke, had left his fianc? standing all alone at the altar. That was just one of the many unanswered cliffhangers when the show closed for the summer.
Since then, Isaiah Washington has been taken out of the picture, Kate Walsh has moved on to her own Grey's Anatomy spin-off and there are new characters to watch out for.
Grey's Anatomy's fall offering opening salvo, entitled ?A Change is Gonna Come,? appears like the perfect harbinger for the new direction the series is expected to take. Here are a few inside details to anticipate:
According to TV Guide's Ask Ausiello, there will be a pair of incoming interns thrust into action when Seattle Grace receives multiple casualties resulting from a three-vehicle mishap.
TV Squad reveals that one intern named Thomson will aid in delivering a baby on his very first day at work. There is also an early installment of the show's staple offbeat storylines, this time involving a young boy who brings a fatally bleeding pet raccoon for the doctor to save.
SpoilerFix.com mentions the story involving one of the victims in the car accident. A man named Henry has sustained severe traumatic injuries and the doctor tells his wife, Clara, and their two young children that his head is fastened to his body by nothing more than skin and muscle and that he will die inevitably.
Fans will definitely be eager to witness where the series is headed after a somewhat lackluster third season. It remains to be seen whether the writers and producers are up to the task in steering the program back to its award-winning form.
Greys Anatomy Season Spoilers
Backtracking a bit, Thursday's episode, "Haunt You Every Day" featured Ava (Elizabeth Reaser) returning to Seattle Grace, catching Alex off guard. Finally, eager fans of the highly-watched show can rest knowing that her storyline will be given a resolution.
TV Guide reports that former teen stars Joshua Jackson and Seth Green have signed on for multiple episode appearances on Grey's Anatomy. Best known for playing Pacey on the teen drama, Dawson 's Creek, Joshua Jackson will be playing a doctor beginning on this season's 11th episode. Seth Green, on the other hand, will be playing a Seattle Grace patient.
"If you are going to get sick, Seattle Grace is the place to do it," said Green, who is best known for his work on the Austin Powers movies, and more recently, Family Guy and Robot Chicken. "Maybe they'll call me McSicky?"
Going back to last season, the male doctors took a holiday into the mountains and did some fishing. This season, they once again get together, this time to aid Dr. Webber to get his mind off his failing marriage, as featured in the episode entitled "Kung Fu Fighting," airing on November 1. Cristina and Izzie, on the other hand get a bit competitive with each other as Meredith goes full time with a victim of a skydiving accident.
The November 8 episode is entitled "Physical Attraction ... Chemical Reaction," and refers to the relationship between George and Izzie. Callie finds herself also in trouble after relying too much on Bailey, her third party. Sloane falls in love but doesn't reveal who it is yet. Finally, Prison Break's Rockmond Dunbar, who plays C-Note on the FOX drama, will be appearing as guest.
The developments are getting deeper and fans will have a hard time staying away from the tube once Grey's Anatomy is on. There hasn't been any word on how Meredith and Lexie's relationship will play out, however, expect their father to show up in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
