As a military wife, I find myself being moved to new places on a fairly often schedule. In 2004, I found myself in a small town and a new job at the only hospital available for miles, working my usual 60 to 70 hours, plus taking call. Then came a budget cut and I was out of a job on March 20, 2006. I didn't know any people with the financial freedom to allow them the luxury of staying home and I certainly was not in that category! Plus in my search for a way to earn an income, I found that with troop deployments and families leaving to wait the return of their soldier in their hometowns where they would have help, there were just no opportunities. All the education I had and 15 years of experience as a surgical technologist would not help me here.



Talking to many other military wives and stay at home moms, I found this to be a huge problem among many women, especially those of us who know at any given moment, we could be asked to pack up and start our life in yet another town. We have to find new jobs, decide where our children will go to school, get childcare references, basically start over. But, this is not just a problem for military families, I have heard this from many people, families across America are dealing with these issues.

My parents raised me to believe that every problem has a solution, you just have to find it, so I turned to the internet. What I found was what seemed like a robotic society ready to take my money and run. At first, I thought, isn't there any company in this world that has a real person I can talk to? Then the most incredible thing happened. I stumbled upon a website with two pictures, email addresses and phone numbers. I called one of those numbers and to my surprise, a human answered! A friendly, human voice! I couldn't have imagined this! A few weeks later, I joined EDC Gold and have not looked back since. This has given me so much more than a J*O*B, in fact, I don't even use that word when talking about this opportunity, with the exception of this one time.

My husband is deployed on his 3rd tour to Iraq. They are very long, hard months for me and others like me, but this opportunity has given me something to be excited about, something to keep me busy during lonely days and I can take it with me anywhere I may find myself! Gone are the days of interviews and budget cuts! And when my husband retires from the army, he will be able to partner with me in an already built business. A business where we are boss and make our own schedule. Does it get any better than that?

So, while my husband fights for our freedoms, I enjoy working for our financial future and freedom!
