Herbal acne treatments: Let us first get introduced to the herbs
Herbs have been used over the years for various medicinal purposes from acnes, to rejuvenating birth, energy, spirituality, the list is endless. Herbal treatments are well known for their gradual and gentle ways and no side-effects.
Herbs are filled with important nutrients that we are not able to get from the food that we eat. Herbs work wonders with our body in order to temporarily balance it and to help in the healing process. Herbs help treat not only symptoms of a diseases but they help in dealing with the root cause itself.
In my seven years of research I have tried and tested various herbs with varying degrees of potency and different people suffering from different types of acnes and of varying degrees of severity. And my conclusions that I have drawn are: herbal acne treatments when chosen correctly and taken correctly do actually work. However there is one drawback: herbal acne treatment work only for a short time and only when they are combined with other protocols that take care of various other factors that lead to acne.
How do herbal acne treatments work?
All herbs do not work or behave in similar fashion. In fact herbs work and function differently with different individuals. Herbs are filled with nutrients and these help the body to regulate and nourish and heal itself. And herbs unlike the conventional acne treatments do not only address the symptoms but address the root cause of the problem itself. And for this very reason they work in a slow and gradual process.
Herbs don't work individually rather the herbs work collectively i.e. each herb contributing in taking care of one factor that's causing the problem. When taken with the right food items like fresh fruits and vegetables herbs work more effectively.
Herbal acne treatment like with any other natural cure lead to a temporary crisis i.e. the situation worsens before becoming better. Herbs stimulate the body towards a intensive detoxification and that leads the liver to discharge a lot of toxins in the blood stream which aggravates the situation for a while. But this is proves effective as it helps the body to restore to its natural tendency of healing itself and return to the state of homeostasis and work really hard to heal itself.
When taken in the form a blend or a tincture the herbal acne treatments prove really effective in purifying the blood of toxic element and in achieving the hormonal balance, and in helping the liver to expel toxics out of the system. They also help in fighting various fungal diseases like Candida that affect the elimination organs and worsen acnes.
The only problem being herbal acne treatments only work for a short time.
Why is the herbal acne treatment's effect only temporary?
Herbs do help the body in healing and rejuvenating itself by breaking up toxins and helping in the cleansing process but herbs can never completely and permanently cure your acnes.
There are two reasons why this is so:
1. To permanently and completely cure your acnes you need to optimize your lifestyle and help your hormones reach the right balance, you also need have your elimination organs in good health. Herbs though definitely help in this process but they can never be a substitute.
Example: If you are suffering from toxic build up in your blood like most acne sufferers herbs that help in cleansing the blood however potent they may be they can never be a substitute for blood and liver cleansing processes. Just like a mechanical problem in your car can never be solved by just changing the oil or the fuel.
2. Some herbs like the Echinacea which helps in reducing inflammation and in the healing process and aloe vera that has awesome astringent qualities and antibacterial properties can be taken for a long time. But mot of the herbs should never be continued for long. Because most herbs like the dandelion work in cycles. They empower an organ to function in high gear temporarily and then they stop working, that' the way herbs work.
There is another reason why herbs work only for a short while. The healing crisis that they create in the body pushes the body to work harder in order to cleanse itself and eventually the body neutralized the potency level of the herbs.
Herbal treatments need to work in tandem with other protocols to succeed
There are various herbs that help in reducing symptoms. Some herbs can be used as effecting cleansing elements. Some boost up the functioning of various organs. Some help fight fungal infections, some help build up the hormonal balance, some strengthen the liver and help in purifying the blood. And all these together help in positively taking care of acne condition.
But this over stimulation of your liver in expelling the toxics eventually tires the liver and the positive effect caused by the herbs is gradually over.
It is better in fact to strengthen the liver beforehand so that even the temporary effect of the herbs reduces the liver still continues to expel the toxins from the body like before.
Also since the imbalance of hormones and the toxic build up is caused by various internal and external factors and the hormonal balancing and cleansing processes being complicated in nature herbs need other helping protocols along with the strengthening of the liver to successfully treat the acnes.
Conclusion: An acne treatment to work effectively needs herbs to work in tandem with other hormone balancing and cleansing protocols. Also it needs to be kept in mind that herbs work in cycles, like taking them 2-3 weeks regularly then discontinuing them for the next 2-3 weeks.
