1. The first thing that you should do is check and see what the company's policy is about a monetary value of the gifts that they are given. When you check beforehand, you save yourself and the client the embarrassment of having to return the item to you.

If you are comfortable with it, you can call your client and ask them what they enjoy – what their hobbies are, what they enjoy doing, if the collect anything. This will help you to give an idea of what they would like to get from you.

5. Instead of just signing your name to a printed card to a client, adding a handwritten note along with the card is going to really show your client that they are valued. They know that you know them and that he or she is just not another client.

6. Once you have chosen the right printed corporate gift for your client, the next thing is to get it all wrapped up nicely. The packaging that the gift is wrapped in is as much of a reflection of your company as the gift itself. It's a good idea if you wrap it yourself, but if you don't wrap gifts well or you don't have the time, having it wrapped at a shopping mall or a retailer is the next best thing.

7. If you are able to do it, delivering your branded corporate gift is something that is really going to make your clients smile. When you deliver the gift yourself, it's going to make them remember you for a very long time.

You want to do everything you can to put your best foot forward and show the client that you appreciate them and their business.

Other items to give away at this type of event that will also give the business an opportunity to get their name out there are golf towels, drinking glasses or coffee mugs, umbrellas, flashlights, key chains and a host of other options. These are memorable corporate gifts that will spur the wearers or owners memory about you each time they are used.

One idea that was very popular with a corporation when it came time for them to give something special to a client was the pre-made corporate gift bag. These were always a hit with the customers and appreciated many times over. They consisted of a high quality gift bag made of heavy fabric with sturdy leather handles. These bags were elegantly initialed with the logo of the company along with their motto. Inside the bag the delighted receiver found several classy items that all bore in some way the name of the company or its logo, but were quality items that left a good impression of the business. These included a glass highball drinking glass set, a desktop clock, two golf towels and sleeves of golf balls and an assorted collection of specialty teas and coffees that also were imprinted with the company logo. These hot drinks, of course, would be served in the tw0 coffee mugs included in the bag. Although the clients loved these bags, one of the biggest pluses that the company felt was the pre-made bags being stored and readily handy to be given at a moment's notice. The head of the company liked the idea so well and was so impressed with the gift selection that he ended up buying stock in the gift company.

Whatever a business chooses in corporate gift giving, it is important to keep in mind what your budget allows and then, staying within this limit, select the highest quality item you can find for that amount. What is given out is a reflection of the company with their name and logo on it. This is true especially if it is for a significant client that you would like to impress.
