Without question, we've all seen it on many products; sodas, crackers, cookies, chips, candy the phrase; "new look same great taste." These days you may be able to slap a similar label across Trend Homes, one of Arizona's leading home builders; "new company, new owners same great homes!" With the recent purchase of Trend Homes by the private equity firm Najafi Cos, Trend Homes is out to prove it is a new company that doesn't have any of the old issues.
As 2008 began, Trend Homes after undergoing much of the same dilemmas many Arizona home builders were being forced to undergo, was close to having to hang an out of business sign on their front door. The problem wasn't because Trend Homes was building inferior homes; in fact, the opposite is true; Trend Homes was ranked Highest in Quality by Phoenix, Arizona Home Builders in 2007. People simply were not buying homes.
Now within the ownership of the private equity firm Najafi Cos, Trend Homes has improved its appeal taking it beyond lovely homes in the Phoenix Valley but now offers incentives and programs that other Arizona Home Builders are not offering, including Pre-Approved Bank Short Sales; Trend has arranged with banks to Pre-approve short sales. With this guaranteed pre-approval, Arizona home buyers can now circumvent the would be lengthy waiting process of getting approval.
Alongside the many incentives and programs Trend Homes now offers homebuyers, Trend Homes, now under the ownership umbrella of Najafi Cos offers some of the most competitive interest rates available today. In addition, Arizona home buyers will now save up to 40 percent on new homes by taking advantage of the Pre-Approved Short Sale.
The buying of the company names Trend Homes and Classic Communities with the debt by the two companies by the equity firm Najafi Cos in first quarter of 2008 affords this Arizona home builder the chance for a fresh start. Additionally, with the new beginning that Trend has, they're taking the opportunity to give Arizona home buyers the chance to get a new start in a new and lovely home with fresh incentives, fresh savings, and fresh down payment opportunities.
With the many transformations that have occurred at Trend Homes as well as Classic Communities since the purchasing of the two companies in January of 2008 by Najafi Cos, you'll find new programs available including the Paint for Your Down Payment program which permits Arizona home buyers to lower their down payment in exchange for painting their new home. This is a first of this type of program for Arizona home builders.
There are many things Arizona home buyers know they can expect from Trend Homes. And as a leading Arizona home builder, Trend Homes considers these expectations very important. Even with new owners, (Najafi Cos purchased Trend Homes in Jan. 2008) residents of Arizona can still expect the same from Trend Homes; beautiful homes, made with quality products by skilled craftsmen. As an applauded Arizona home builder, Trend is devoted to YOUR satisfaction.
Now under the ownership umbrella of the private equity firm Najafi Cos, Trend Homes now has the kind of credit that allows the company to have a new start which is both beneficial for Trend AND beneficial for Arizona home buyers as Trend Homes is able to offer certain programs and incentives other Arizona home builders cannot such as Pre-Approved Bank Short sales and very appealing prices on foreclosed homes in Arizona.

There are lots of options that you can have installed in your new home. Probably the biggest way is to modify your windows. Lots of heat will get in or out of your house through the windows. Talk with your builder about the different types of windows that are available; if they have low-E coating; are Argon filled; are double, triple, or quadruple paned. The more panes of glass, the more energy is absorbed. After you select your windows, you need to have them tinted. You should also buy heavy drapes and keep them closed during the day. Doing these steps will put you on your way towards keeping the heat out (or in).
Next you need to have solar panels installed. If you pay to have it done, it will probably cost you about $50,000. I recommend you purchase solar kits. The solar kits approach will let you make one solar panel at a time and convert your home over to solar power one appliance at a time. The solar kits method is an excellent scale up approach. Think of solar kits in individual component terms as a solar panel, deep cycle battery, controller, and inverter. Solar kits will cost you about $200. When you get $200, you say okay, I am going to convert my TV over to solar power this month. These solar kits come with easy to follow directions and can be built in one weekend.
Most people know that solar kits are out there, but what they don't know is that wind power kits are also available. The next best thing you need to do is to make a wind power generator. There are good winds in Dallas Texas. I have found that areas that have high winds, the local hardware stores stock wind power kits for purchase. You can build a wind turbine for your home for about $150. Give yourself a day dedicated to building a wind turbine. Once you get build one, you will be able to build another in just a couple of hours.
Next, a well insulated home will go a long way towards saving money on your monthly electricity bill. Ask the builder how many inches of insulation were put in the attic and in the walls. You need to have 6 inches minimum. If it is not too late, have the builder put 10 - 12 inches in the attic. Also, ask for roof fans installed to vent the hot air from the attic to the outside. Roof fans are inexpensive and will make a big difference in keeping your house cool.
Finally, get a thermostat that is programmable. A programmable thermostat will save you big money off your electric bill. For example, you will be able to tell it to turn the air off at 7:30 am when you go to work, and turn the air on around 4:30 pm just prior to getting home. The same thing can be done at night when you sleep so that, it adjusts your temperature down to 70 degrees.
