Stuffing envelopes: This type of job has been around for quit some time. Originally these ads were found in the newspaper and still are. However, they are found online now as well. Essentially you either call a number and pay to have materials sent to you or sign up online and pay online. What is sent to you is the same information you just saw to sign up. There is no actual job, you will be posting the exact same ad that you answered and sending people the same information you received. You will be placing a lot of ads both online and in local papers trying to get others to reply. These ads are everywhere and though there may be an actual job where a company actually needs you to stuff envelopes for them and send out their materials, currently many of these jobs are not legitimate. Usually you will not even make back your start up cost that you sent in.
Rebate processor: Usually the ad you will see will be to process rebates from home. These rebates at first glance seem to be from people who have bought products from companies and are now sending in the rebate that was offered to them. However, you will not be processing these type of rebates, instead you will be placing ads for products that companies want to sell and offering the rebate. Meaning if the product is $50.00, you sell it for $60.00 with a $10.00 rebate and keep the $10.00. You will receive a list of companies that are looking for people to do this, however again this will be a lot of leg work on your end and very little profit. Depending on the products your trying to sell and how the market is for them. Also, you will be spending a lot of your own money placing ads and trying to sell the products with the rebates before you see any money coming in.
Placing ads: This one is similar to the ones above. Essentially you are placing ads to drive people to other companies sites. Again, the problem is is that you are searching for the companies and you will be spending quit a bit of money first before you see any. Your pay will be based on the number of people that purchase from the company using the link you've placed in an ad. The major problem being is advertising and there will obviously be thousands of other people doing the exact same thing as you.
Data entry: with this one, this is a combination of the above jobs. It falls under data entry meaning any of those above along with survey sites, which are free to join and can easily be found with a Google search, paid to read email sites, also free, along with anything else that can be thought of. Many times there is a high fee to sign up and you will be doing what is talked about above or something similar.
The problem being there is no real job and you could even be listing the exact same ad you just responded to.
Home Business Opportunities Online
If you have had a home business for a while, chances are good that you have a great local following that provides you with most of your business. This might be great but you might feel as if you have reached a ceiling as far as your payment goes, and what you are going to be making from your home business. If you feel like you can't go any farther with the local responsibilities that you have, you might want to move your home business online. This is something that you should consider if you find yourself wanting to grow, but don't find the avenues for it locally.
First Steps
First, you have to decide if you are going to benefit from being online. Remember that if you move your home business online, you can expect more business right away. So you have to decide whether or not you are going to be able to handle more business, and if you are, you have to decide if it is going to be worth it. If you have the time and the resources to be able to handle a jump in business, then you might be ready to move online.
Next, you have to find a good web hosting site and get a website that you can use. What you do here is going to depend on how good you are at websites. IS this something that you can do on your own, or is it something that you are going to need help with? The decision is up to you, but you have to be reasonable about what your skills are online, and whether or not you are going to be able to maintain and build a website. If you feel that you can't do a very good job you should hire it done. Remember that online today there are lots of great sites, and you are going to have a lot of competition. This means that if you are going to have a site, you had better make sure that it is good.
After you have a good website, you have to concentrate on how you are going to market your business. Be sure that you are finding lots of places to advertise your website, because remember that it isn't going to advertise itself. You have to put the time into getting your name out there, but it is worth it because after you have done so, you'll find that the business continues to grow. It can be something that is really frustrating, but in the end, it can end up making you the proudest business owner who really knows how to get the business going. If you are confidant, then you can move your business online, and you will see great success.
