Aminophylline, an active ingredient in Cellulean, has been reported to break down fat and cellulite by triggering the enzymes that break down the fat in certain areas of the body. This belief became popular in the early 1990s, when medical researchers reported that women who used the cream on their hips, thighs, and buttocks, lost approximately one inch off their hips, thighs, and buttocks when the cream was applied twice daily for six weeks.



The active ingredient Aminophylline works like this: Fat cells have beta receptors, and, when stimulated, these beta receptors release fat. The beta receptors then create a hormone called cyclic AMP, which then triggers the second step of the process. Then something called phosphodiesterase, interferes and breaks down the cyclic AMP which stops the break down of fat. ?Thiomucase, an enzyme derived from the bulls? testicles, is thought to improve skin appearance and reduce the dimpling of cellulite. Thiomucase does not absorb easily into the skin and may cause an allergic reaction in some people, so this is not for every one.
