Some people want everything to be perfect before they are willing to commit to something.
But commitment always comes before achievement. That is why all people who have success in their lives recognize its importance. If you want to make a difference as a leader in other people's lives then look into your heart and see if you're really committed.
It's one thing to talk about commitment. It's another thing to do something about it. The only real measure of commitment is action. "Nothing is easier then saying words. Nothing is harder then living them out day after day" Arthur Gordon . As a leader, you will face plenty of obstacles and opposition - if you're not already doing so. And through many those times commitment will be the only thing that carries you forward. Remember, that commitment is the enemy of resistance and if you want to get anywhere worthwhile then you must be committed.
Now when it comes to commitment, there are four types of people that come to mind:
1. Cop-outs - These are the people who have no commitment and no goals.
2. Hold-outs - These people don't know if they got what it takes, so they are afraid to commit.
3. Drop-outs - There's a lot of people like this, who actually start towards their goal but quit as soon as things get a little tough.
4. All-outs - If you are a leader then this is you. A person who sets goals, commits to them, and is willing to pay the price to reach them.
What kind of person are you? Have been reaching your goals? Are you achieving all you believe you can? Are people believing in you and ready to follow your lead? If you answered no to any of these questions, then you must ask yourself if you are really committed to achieving your goals. Are you doing everything you know is possible to help you achieve your goals?
To help you improve on your commitment try to do the following:
Measure it. Sometimes you really think your committed to something, but your actions indicate otherwise. Use a calendar and write down what you are doing on a daily basis. This will record what actions you are doing and what actions are really putting you closer to your goals. Eliminate whatever is wasting your time and money and focus on what actions are getting you closer to your goals. Another question you can ask yourself is, what are you willing to die for? Seriously, think about it, what can you not live with no matter what the consequences are? Now, are your actions supporting your ideals. Be the leader and show the way….
