Building a list is very important in any business and especially an online one. A list of purchasers, subscribers or anybody who is interested in what you have to offer. So how do you go about building list and then making it responsive to your offers?



1 " Opt-in form " An opt-in form is somewhere that a visitor to your website can enter their name and email address usually in exchange for something. You need to place some html code on your website for this to happen and can get this code from an auto responder service. This may sound technical but there are a few services available and you dont have to have technical knowledge to install it.

2 " Traffic " Any website needs traffic and you will need to drive traffic to your opt-in form on your website or squeeze page. Your main traffic will be generated from articles, ppc, videos and blog posting to name the main few. There are certainly many more traffic methods but these will suffice to get you started.

3 " Incentive " For a visitor to give you their name and email address you must offer them something of value and pertaining to their interest. This is often a free report you have written or a subscription to your newsletter. Make a good first impression and make it a solid report so you can build on that foundation.

4 " Build a relationship " this is just as important as any other aspect when building your list. You need to gain the trust of your list as well as making yourself seem like someone who has something of value to offer. Webinars and blog posts are key to this as you must be yourself, being yourself will shine through and people can connect with you and once whey do this you will have a list and a fan base.

These four steps are the foundation on which you need to build a responsive list. Out of the four steps two stick out as being very important, driving traffic and building a relationship with them. Dont be put off it is easier than you think and there is help available.
