So Let's Begin. Late last week I received several emails from people who wanted to know more about my MLM products. Naturally, I made a simple note of the "prospects" information and shot them over a quick email.

After 2 or 3 days of some well-deserved relaxation with my wife and 3 little girls, it was time to get back to work. I woke up early Monday morning and headed over to the computer, Red Bull energy drink in hand. Upon checking my company's back office, I was happy to discover (but not surprised) that 2 of last week's prospects had become customers over the weekend.

Now, here's the neat part about it. I never spoke to either prospect and yet they both decided to join my program without me.

OK, so how did I do it?

Simple, I applied a very powerful, yet little-known secret. It's called copywriting (not copyrighting), and the best internet marketers in the world refer to it as "the million dollar skill".

In a nutshell, copywriting is salesmanship in print. Good copywriting makes prospects trust you, believe you, follow you, join you, buy from you, refer other people to you and, beg for more. It's not magic, but it's powerful stuff indeed. And yes, you can do it too! (I'll show you how in just a moment, I promise)

Alright, let's take a look at how this applies to your business. First, let me ask you a couple of questions. Are you marketing a product that solves different problems such as pain relief, high cholesterol, or lack of energy? What do you think would happen to your sales if you could address the individual issues of each prospect and show them exactly how your product can solve their specific problem?

Here's what I mean. If someone asks about pain relief, talk about pain relief. Don't talk about high cholesterol or lack of energy. Furthermore, prospects are really not interested that your company is debt-free, in business for 20+ yrs, or did $500 million dollars in sales last year.

Here's a breakdown of the "correct" type of information to send them in a letter:

- A powerful benefit-ridden headline that draws them in and promises to relieve their pain or provide pleasure.

- It is personal, it uses their name, and makes the prospect feel like "I am only talking to you".

- It brings up the pain that's on their mind in a very emotional manner.

- It educates them with specific benefits your product provides.

- It stimulates them on how life is going to be when they are using your product.

- It allows your knowledge to position you as an "expert" they can trust.

- It overcomes their objections and puts their minds at ease.

- It completely answers their questions.

- It reassures them with your money-back satisfaction guarantee.

- It "closes" them properly by walking them through the sign-up process.

OK, so how can you learn to become a great copywriter? Well, you've got 2 choices. You could go out and spend literally $1500-$2000 or more on a big professional copywriting course from a highly-paid professional copywriter. Or, you can simply study the work that experienced copywriters have already done.

By the way, this is how I did it, and this is how some of the most highly-paid copywriters in the world got started. Here's what you do:

1. Jump on the internet and head straight for your favorite search engine.

2. Do a search for some of the best copywriters in the world. Here's a great list to start with: Dan Kennedy, Perry Marshall, Dr Joe Vitale, Yanik Silver, Michael Fortin, Mike Dillard

3. When you find their respective websites, the long (sometimes very long) page is the copywriting.

4. Either "copy and paste" them into a program such as MS Word or "bookmark" the sites to refer to later. (Don't use a program like Notepad because you want to be able to see the different features they use.)

5. Rewrite or retype them word for word.

6. Read or retype them daily!

Note: Do NOT put your business on hold to do it. Do this ONLY when all of your leads have been called and you make the extra time to do it.

Now, as you do this, pay close attention to the way they translate features into benefits, the words they use, the styles they write with, the stories they tell, the font sizes and styles, and the way they make you feel that they are only speaking to you.

Along the way, you'll notice something very interesting. They're all written at a 6th grade level! Yes it's true, because big words and worn out clichés don't sell.

So don't worry if you're not a writer. You don't have to strive for "grammatical excellence". Just be yourself and write the way you would talk if you were doing a "one-on-one" presentation with a friend.

Well there you go. Now you know the "million dollar secret". So don't stop here. Study it, learn it, but most importantly, apply it. And if you'll do that, your business will grow with or without you...and yes, even while you sleep.
