Contacting a celebrity to ask for a photo is very cut and dry. It's a simple process, but it should be noted that you will not be able to directly contact a celebrity by home telephone or personal email and ask them for a photograph. In this day and age celebrities are very cautious with the extent of their contact with their fans, due to stalkers and various privacy issues.



The simplest means of acquiring a general celebrity photograph or even an autographed photo of your favorite celebrity is to join their personal fan club if they have one. To do this you can do a simple search for the celebrity's personal website. If they have one it will generally have an option that will sign you up for their fan club. Many celebrities offer this free of charge, while others will require a fee to join. They will generally send you out a welcome packet that features one or more photographs of the celebrity.

Another great method that many people will use in order to get a photo of their favorite celebrity is to visit the 'Photos' section of the celebrities website. In this day and age it is very easy to professionally print photos from various sources on photo paper and have a top-notch photo.

For most people they will never actually come into contact with a celebrity and be able to ask for a photo.

However, you can also check out your celebrity's personal website and see if they are doing any photo signings or public events that are open to the general public. In most cases if you attend a signing, you will get to meet the celebrity and they will sign a photo for you. Celebrities hold these events in order to meet with their fans in a secure location where they feel safe and are protected by their staff. This is the safest means for most celebrities to have contact with their followers and supporters.

At these types of signings you will be able to read the rules and see if they allow you to take personal photos of them, and if so if they will appear in the photos with you. Some celebrities will do this for a charge however. They use it as a second means to generate income. However, charging for these types of things is generally left to the B-List actors. Most A-List actors and celebrities do not charge a fee for such photo taking and autographs.

If you do run into a celebrity in public you will no doubt be tempted to ask them for an autograph or to have your photo taken with them. However, if it is not at a professional signing or event, you should be respectful to the celebrities personal space.
