Some think it is a way topunish a dog by putting in that confinement area. However, there are manyuseful reasons that people fail to notice on how putting their dog in a cratecan be safe, secured, prevent house items from breaking, learn the rules ofyour house like where to get food and where to eliminate, helps during illnessso vets can check thoroughly, during your vacation etc.

Crate is not just a woodenbox, metal or molded plastic comprising a rectangular shape enclosure; it islike a home for your dog. There are couple of things that dog owner should putin their mind before deciding to get a crate and put their dog in. Usually, consulting with dog trainers helps to get best crate for you dog. It reallydepends on dog how your dog will react to it. If you don't get it, it will bevery difficult to introduce your dog with new confinement and your dog may denystaying in. To make it happen, a proper training is required and even non dogtrainer can do if they do it carefully. So what are those proper training?Let's discuss some training tips that comprise day to day routine work.

In case of young puppiesgenerally it won't be a big problem adjusting themselves in new environment andeven if they do, more often with crying, which is just a regular behavior thatwill go away eventually. Forcing into the crate is not good idea, do it withlove and praise with caring touching and calling by name if puppy has. It isyour duty to make your dog accustomed to new environment such as crate. Nevermake it as a way of punishing your dog.

When choosing the crate, oneshould be careful on what kind of materials you think would be safe andcomfortable for your dog. Too much room or too less space may not be good foryour dog. There are varieties of crates available in the market, consideringwhich one would be good for your home and your dog, decides how much will youspend on it. If you have a hard time making a puppy or dog to let in, you canalways put a food toy or one of their favorite food inside for sometime butavoid doing always the same.

Where you put the crate playsmajor role. The crate should be placed where your puppy/dog can see people i.e.your family. Never put puppy/dog in the crate for a long time because it avoidsdeveloping aggressive behavior.  Normallycrating should not exceed 6-7 hours. If you need more time to confine your dogin the crate, there should someone to supervise.

Make a daily routine for yourpuppy when to eliminate and when you take out, do not forget the leash. Andafter elimination, back to the crate and loose the leash.

Crating dogs or puppiesdepends on their age and their environment. Putting a dog in crate should neverbe assumed as a punishment but simply securing for many safety purposes. Afterall, dog is a man's best friend.
How To Crate Train Your Dog
Using a crate to train your dog is one of the best methods available. Crate training works well because it ties in with the natural instincts of your dog. By using this method of training you will have a clean home and a dog which behaves properly. The most important thing to understand about crate training is that a dog will want to avoid urinating in the place where it sleeps. It will see the crate as being its home.

The first thing you want to do when crate training your dog is to use a consistent schedule. This will allow the dog to relieve itself in the righ place instead of a place where you don't want them to. It is also important to reward the dog when they behave properly, but not get angry when they don't do what you want. It takes time for a dog to learn, and you will need to have patience when trying to train them. When you are not at home, you will want to keep your dog in a closed off space.

The space should have a bed, clean water, and toys so that the dog doesn't become lonely or aggravated. Crate training works differently than just confining a dog to a certain room. When you use crate training you will want to place the dog within the crate when you are not watching him. While this may sound abusive at first, it is important to remember that dogs naturally like being in confined spaces. They are den animals. The dog will begin to think of the crate as being his home, and will not relieve himself there.

After the dog has been in the crate for a while, you will want to take them to the location where it is allowed to relieve itself. Once it does, reward him with a treat or praises. You want the dog to associate relieving itself in the right place with rewards. This will give it an incentive to continue behaving properly. Don't allow the dog to stay in the crate for a long time, as it will be forced to relieve itself in the crate and this is something that neither of you want. It could will reverse all the training you've given the dog.

The dog should only be put in the crate while you're present. The dog should be allowed to go to the rest room every 40 minutes, accept at night. The dog should be placed on a leash when you take him out. Give him about three to five minutes to finish. If the dog doesn't relieve itself, you should quickly take him back to the crate. If the dog does relieve itself, rewared him with treats or a walk.
