How To Dance School

    View:
When you are making that important decision about which dance school is the best for your child, a common misconception is that all teachers are the same. In the dancing world, there are professional teachers that tutor for a living and there are part time teachers who do it as a second job or a way to pay bills until they get another job.

Things to consider about part time or inexperienced teachers:

These teachers are inexperienced: They will lack the necessary skills and experience that a professional teacher will have.

They are often just doing it part time for the money rather than dedicating themselves to their dance and pupils. If they are also studying something else (say their real interest is in accounting or law) then their minds are hardly going to be on the students who are looking for guidance.

Many very young teachers lack maturity and have problems dealing with the complexities of multiple children in a group. It takes a lot of dedication to teach dance to children and it is difficult to find this dedication in someone who is only teaching part time.

Professional teachers on the other hand have several advantages:

They are knowledgeable: these teachers are very knowledgeable. Not only have they spent a number of years learning to dance but they have also learnt all about the art of dancing. This means that they can answer all sorts of questions about dance and the arts. Young children always have many questions when they learn new skills and when teachers have the answers the pupils will learn faster and enjoy more.

It is important that young students get to know their teachers and not have a different face every couple of weeks. With professional teachers they are settled in their position and are usually not planning to move on quickly. This allows a young student to develop a bond and trust with their teacher. It also allows them to feel secure and not have to help new teachers get to know what level they are at with their schooling.

They are specially trained to teach young children: Dance is a very personal thing and needs an intuitive teacher to bring out the best in a child. Professional teachers are trained to have this quality and draw out a child's creativity.

They are dedicated to their pupils: professional teachers have gone through a fairly rigorous training and do not do these dance courses unless they are really dedicated. Because they love dancing they are keen to pass on this love to others. That is why they are very committed to their pupils, especially their young students. This enables their pupils to learn faster and better.

It takes a special person to understand and train your children in dance. Dancing comes naturally to young children but the discipline of the dance routines do not. You need someone who knows how to encourage dance discipline with a balance of fun. Professional teachers are trained and have the natural ability to do this. They also need to know how to persuade young children to practice the dance skills. This is another reason to hire professional teachers, even if it means paying a little more.
How To Dance School
Teaching dance, gymnastics and other physical arts can be a very competitive business. While promotional gifts are a good way of advertising and making your school more visible in your community, they also can serve another purpose. Selling the items that your students need can add another income stream that will increase your bottom line.

Think about it. Your students are proud to be a member of your school. They'll happily purchase items that show off their allegiance to you and the commitment they've made to be the best under your tutelage. Their parents are a ready market for such things as rucksacks, jackets, hair ties, t-shirts and sports bottles bearing your dance school name and logo. After all, what little girl wouldn't be thrilled with a jacket bearing the name of her dance school as a holiday or birthday gift?

If you haven't considered setting up a school store before, here are a few of the most popular promotional gifts for selling to students at dance schools and gymnasiums.

T-shirts

Far and away the most popular promotional gifts with dance and gymnastics students are t-shirts with the name of their school printed across the front. They're also a good choice as a starting foray into selling promotional gifts to advertise your school and increase your income stream. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to store. If you invest in a range of two or three colors, many of your students will want more than one ? and when they wear them, they'll be spreading your name around town in a good way.

Rucksacks and Tote Bags

Also high on the list of promotional gifts that dance and gymnastics students love to buy from their school are rucksacks and tote bags with their school name on them. Drawstring rucksacks, travel bags and city bags are ideal for dance school promotions. They come in a broad range of colors, and have a large print area to carry your name. Centrix makes a specific range of travel bags fitted with a zippered shoe compartment that makes them especially attractive and suitable for dance students.

Jackets and Fleeces

Outfit your dance and gymnastics teams for competition with matching fleece warm-up jackets emblazoned with your team or school name. Your students will wear them proudly as a sign of belonging ? and your school will reap the benefits in both income from the sale of the jackets and increased publicity for you.

Sports Bottles

Sports bottles make great giveaways at community awareness events, but they'll also sell well in your school store. They're among the most inexpensive promotional gifts that you can carry, which makes it easy for your students to buy them for themselves or for each other as gifts. They also make quick and easy stocking stuffers for the holidays when parents are looking for inexpensive and appealing gifts for their kiddies.

There are many more gifts that would be a good fit as promotional gifts to help increase your dance school's bottom line. Take a look through the catalogue of promotional gifts available at the UK's largest suppliers of promotional items for more ideas that you can use to promote your business.
