You would definitely not be alone, if you fondly remembered old shows like Bonanza, Space 1999 or The Avengers. These days, if it's not reality TV or a cop / crime show, then it does not seem to rate a mention.



There are many people who do not want to be shocked or disturbed by gruesome murders and graphic violence when they are trying to relax after a hard days work, and to call watching a group of obnoxious delinquents lazing about a house entertainment, makes a lot of us yearn for the old days of good viewable TV.

Of course some of the old westerns and thrillers had some violence in them, but it was fairly unrealistic, and not designed to shock and scare the viewer. Most people are exposed to enough shocking footage, by watching CNN or reading a newspaper.

Ironically the solution to this problem for us old fashioned viewers, comes in the form of technology. It is now possible to download a lot of the old TV programs and movies to your computer, and then fairly simple to copy these programs to disk and watch them using your DVD player.

Having the ability to download TV programs and movies, will definitely make those nights in front of the TV worth looking forward to again
