If you listen to the 'acne experts' you'll hear that the first thing you need to do in order to get rid of your acne is to get on a better diet and change your hygiene habits. Then they pitch their over-the-counter products, creams and lotions that supposedly bring immediate results for your acne. But the problem is that it is successful in "many cases", but not all cases. Many people who try the products, therefore experience side effects or even get allergic reactions. So it's better to try proven homemade acne treatments that work effectively and has a high success rate. They are cheaper and doesn't require a doctors prescription.



One popular method to treat acne at home is using cotton dipped in alcohol and use this on your face. The alcohol will help cleanse the pores, and kills a majority of the bacteria causing the infection. You do not want to use excess alcohol because it can yield in light or heavy skin irritation.

Warning! If you have pimples, DO NOT pick them with your finger nails or poke them. If you do this, it will worsen the conditions. If your homemade acne treatments are not working, go with the next one, but make sure you are not picking your pimples. If you do, your inflammations can get worse, and produce nasty scars.
