If you buy the wrong bow, thinking that the technology will get you the results you want, then you may be in for a rude shock. It's like a new driver looking to buy the latest racing car, thinking that the car will somehow improve their driving skills. The fact is, no, it won't happen that way.

To make matters worse, most new hunters like to focus on power and speed when buying a new compound bow. But what they don't understand is that bows, unlike cars, do not generate energy. The energy from cars come from the engines, so if you buy a car with a powerful engine, you'll get more power. But for a bow, regardless of how advanced a the bow is, the energy still comes from you. There is no engine to power the tool. Only you, the hunter, is behind the bow, drawing the strings. So don't make the mistake of thinking that a more powerful bow will make your arrows go faster. It won't. And if you buy the wrong bow, it means you're probably trading in control and comfort for a little more speed. And that, is what we call a bad trade because if you can't hit the target, it doesn't matter how powerful or fast your shot is.
