I am going to tell you how to make money in Runescape using a quest that is available to all members (free or paid). It doesn't require any fighting, or any skills so literally anybody can do this and make 1000gp an hour or more. You can make a lot more money than this with other skills but I'll save that for another guide :-)



Let's go Banana Picking!

What? Banana Picking? Yup sounds kinda weird but don't knock it because there aren't many other money makers that can earn you this much in such a short time with no skills. The quest is based on an island which you can reach by taking a boat tip from Port Sarim, which is a short walk from Lumbridge.

Getting to Island of Karjama

All new players start out in Lumbridge so I'll put the directions from there. Your first destination is Port Sarim. Take the road north and follow it all the way to the docks. Along the way you'll head through a forest which is populated with level 2 goblins. These are easy kills for any brand new player and they often drop money. So if you don't have your first 30gp then kill a few of these goblins along the way until you do.

When you get to the dock at Port Sarim you'll see a sailor dressed in blue. Speak to him and he'll offer to transport you to the Island of Karjama for a fee of 30gp. Pay the fee and make the trip.

Lets Get to Work!

The guy in charge of these bananas is called Luthas and he lives in a small house on the island, just a short way from the dock. You can't miss him. He needs some help filling creates with bananas. Speak to him to pick up the job - he will offer to pay you 30gp for each crate load that you fill.

The banana plantation is a short walk from Luthas' house, just up the path. There is no shortage of trees and each one has around 5 bananas swinging from it. Now here's the good part - usually in Runescape when you want to do something like cut a tree down or mine a rock it takes several seconds but banana picking is instant! So you can collect them really quickly.

Once you've picked your bananas you need to fill the crate before Luthas will pay you. The crate is at the front of his house and you can just right click on it to fill it up. It takes 10 bananas to fill the crate. make sure you don't click the bananas from your inventory because they count as food in the game and you'll eat them!

Once you've filled the crate go speak to Luthas to get your payment.

Once the crate is full, go back to Luthas and speak to him. Once he gives you the payment, speak to him again to repeat the task. Don't forget this part otherwise you waste time running around! Now simply rinse and repeat and within an hour you will have 1000gp or more depending on how quickly you do it.

A Time Saving Tip

The crate needs 10 bananas and the slowest part of this quest is running back and forth from the banana plantation to the crate. If you clear out 20 slots in your inventory you can carry 2 crate fulls of bananas each time. So the method then becomes:

1) Pick up Quest

2) Get 20 bananas

3) Fill Crate

4) Speak to Luthas twice

5) Fill Crate

6) Speak to Luthas twice

7) Go back to Step 2

It's a bit tedious but in an hour you will have over 1000gp and with that money you can earn even more in other ways. I like this quest because anybody can do it and why don't you help another newbie by showing him how to make money in Runescape with this quest.
