A niche affiliate marketing business can be promoted in many different ways. However, some ways are better than others and most lazy marketers choose easy strategies that do not work so well. For example they direct their prospects straight to the sales page instead of first directing them to a pres-sell page or a squeeze page.



While the first option is undoubtedly easier it is certainly not what affiliate marketing experts would recommend! Of course, if you get enough targeted traffic to your sales page you are probably going to get some sales. But it is unlikely that your affiliate marketing business will make any money because by sending traffic straight to your sales page you are not giving yourself the best chance to maximize your earnings.

A better way to generate sales is to write product reviews and make a separate webpage for every affiliate product that you sell. Each page will review one product.

This will give you the space to explain the benefits of the product more clearly and give you credibility in the eyes of the visitor. You should not try to sell the product because this is the "pre sell" warm up stage. Your aim is to get your visitor to move on to the sales page already warmed up to the product.

Obviously you will need to know what you are talking about, so ideally you will have bought and tested the product before writing the product review. Familiarity with the product will also give you a chance to tell your website visitors all about it from the perspective of a consumer, which will build a sense of common ground between you and your visitors.

Once you are comfortable with this two-step approach you can take it a step further by using an auto responder to boost your sales. An auto responder will provide you with an automatic way of sending email follow-ups and are an excellent resource to add to your affiliate marketing arsenal.

So how do you get people onto your list so that the auto responder can send them your follow up mailings? The most common way of doing that is to set up a squeeze page complete with a sign up form. A squeeze page aims to do one thing only, which is to arouse the interest of your visitors enough to cause them to want them to give you their contact information.

To arouse interest you will have to provide some kind of incentive like a free information product that can be downloaded from a link that will be provided after the prospect has signed up to your mailing list.

After a visitor signs up his or her name and email address will be added to the auto responder, which will then begin mailing out the follow-up mailings that you will have written and loaded into the system. Keep your newsletters newsy and informative. Again, go easy on the sales pitch even when you include your affiliate link.

The links you place in your newsletter will probably get a better response if they direct the prospect to your product review page rather than to the sales page.

According to this model the process will be:

1. squeeze page,

2. mailing list sign up,

3. newsletter,

4. product review page,

5. sales page,

6. sale!

Each step along this path is an opportunity to strengthen trust and deepen the relationship between yourself and your subscribers. You can do this by constantly providing useful information and good advice. Do not expect everyone to complete all the steps, but treat those who do with special consideration and you will be able to build a new "high priority" list of regular customers.

So to conclude, creating your own webpage reviews and using an auto responder with a squeeze page is a much better way to run a niche affiliate marketing business on the Internet.

Today, I'd like to share with you my top five strategies for attracting highly targeted visitors:

1. Offer a Free Taste

Your free taste is something that you give to someone in exchange for them giving you their name and email address, and signing up to your list. By giving away your information for free, you also get the opportunity to show off your expertise, and give your new subscriber a sampling of what it is you offer.

It must be something of value to your subscriber, without giving away the whole shop!

Then you simply promote your free taste on your website, in your email signature, in your Resource Bio, and any other place you can think of! Place a call to action and people will read it, and click through to your website to get what it is you're offering.

2. Get Others To Promote Your website For You

If you have products and programs for sale then you can easily get other people to promote them for you by offering an affiliate program. People will sign up to your affiliate program and promote your products and programs through their website, newsletter, and/or blog. In exchange you offer them a percentage commission for each sale that your affiliate makes - and make it a generous commission so that they have a real incentive to promote you.

If you're currently using a shopping cart service, check out everything they have to offer - they may have an affiliate program included as part of their service. Mine does!

3. Participate in a Joint Venture (JV)

This is an excellent way to drive highly targeted traffic back to your website, and very easy for you to organize. Gather together some of you colleagues who offer complementary products and services to you and agree to promote each other's products and services to your list.

I participated in a joint venture earlier this year where the organizer created a dedicated web page for this promotion. Everyone's promotional 'blurb' was listed on the website, and each 'joint venturee' sent an announcement out to their list during a specified period directing their subscribers to this webpage. I got a TON of new subscribers as a result!

4. Article Marketing

This is one of my all-time favorites... one of the most successful and cost effective online marketing strategies you can do is to submit your articles to various online article submission websites. This is a great way to:

* promote your services;

* elevate you to 'expert' status within your chosen niche; and

* grow your subscriber list.

It has been well documented that one-way links to your website increase search engine rankings more than reciprocal linking, and article submission is an excellent way to achieve one-way linking. It works by creating backlinks to your website, which the search engines love! With each article you submit, you include a resource box that contains information about you, your business, and an active hyperlink back to your website, newsletter sign up page, product, or special offer - you choose where you want to direct your readers. For example, my resource box directs readers to my newsletter sign up page.

5. Host a Free Teleclass

Hosting a free teleclass is a great way for you to get out in front of your target audience. They actually get to listen to you presenting your information, and have the opportunity to ask you questions on the call - all of which can't be achieved just by writing articles!

And it also gives you to chance to interact with your target market, and find out valuable information about their struggles and pains. It all goes towards building the like, know, and trust factor that is so important when building a solo service business.

All of these strategies work well on their own, and I've had a huge amount of success with each one of them! You can choose to implement just one strategy, or use a combination. Whichever you choose, they all achieve the same goal... to drive highly targeted traffic to your website!
