How To Make Wooden Toy

    View:
A young child's imagination can turn the most simple object into something new and exciting. An ordinary stone can easily become a racing car or a super jet, and a large cardboard box is all that is needed for a trip to the moon. Pretend play makes up a large portion of childhood playtime. Encourage your child to play make-believe because this type of creative play builds skills in several essential areas of development.

Through dramatic play and pretend, young children take the new ideas and concepts they are learning and practice using them in real-life situations. Preschoolers and early elementary children will often play house to work out difficult situations they may experience, like fears at night or trips to the doctor. A child who has just learned some interesting facts about dinosaurs may use blocks and toy dinosaurs to recreate the world the dinosaurs lived in.

Toys like miniature household appliances made of wood or wooden dollhouses with miniature furnishing invite children to explore various roles and develop their social and emotional skills. Empathy begins to emerge as children pretend to be someone else and deal with life in their shoes. Through cooperative dramatic play, children learn to take turns and share as they learn important problem solving skills.

Group play also helps children to solve problems as a team. Cooperative pretend play gives children experience at working together with others to reach a goal and helps leadership skills emerge as well. By testing out new scenarios, children boost their self-esteem and become more self-confident. Pretend play also helps young children to begin to distinguish the difference in fantasy and reality.

Toys like wooden doll furniture help children to develop language skills. Preschoolers learn to create their own stories during play and soon realize the connection between written and spoken words, a basic pre-reading skill. Vocabulary will begin to expand as children learn uses of new words and are introduced to words specific to their interests.

You can help your child gain a number of pre-reading and pre-writing skills by providing her with plenty of books, as well as crayons and paper, in addition to a variety of wooden toys that encourage imaginative play. With a wooden shopping cart and cash register, children can write their own grocery list while a friend is building her math skills.

Pretend play also develops thinking skills. Children will use important cognitive skills, as well as logic, to decide who plays what role or how to construct a pretend fort. Self-control and appropriate behavior can also be learned during cooperative pretend play. Advanced abstract thinking skills will begin to form as children learn to use one object to represent something else, like using a block to represent food.

Objects that can be used to represent the ordinary things your child encounters each day are the best toys to encourage pretend play. There are a variety of wooden toys available for imaginative play, including miniature play sets like farms and jungles, dollhouses, and kitchen furniture. Small cars, ride-on toys, and rocking horses also provide creative play opportunities and are often made of wood. Wooden toys are safe and much more durable than plastic, meaning your child will enjoy hours of developmentally appropriate play as well as the children of generations to come.
How To Make Wooden Toy
Wooden toys not only entice the children to play with them, they also allure the adults to use them in their home and office as decorative articles. Wooden toys manufacturing is a good cottage industry business which provides employment opportunities to many people and also brings enormous profit for artists who are agog at making these wooden toys. The most appealing wooden toys that can be manufactured at home are the wooden trains, puzzles, wooden cars, wooden soldiers and dolls, blocks with engraved alphabet, blocks used for building a house or a castle etc. The wooden toys can be designed according to our imagination and there is not hard and fast rule for making them.

The main aspects to be considered for manufacturing the wooden toys and setting up a showroom of the wooden toys are good wood workmanship, a space for setting up the carpentry or wood workshop and the necessary equipments like saw, blade, wood smoother etc. The wood required for manufacturing these wooden toys can be the recycled wood and it is not necessary that we have to cut the trees every time we need to make toys. In this way, the wooden toys can be manufactured in an environmental friendly way and also saves a lot of money in acquiring the wood for making the toys. The thing from which we can recycle wood are the fallen forest brush, pallets, crates, rail fencing, used building materials, wood that are used for making boats and have become very brittle. These waste wood can be obtained free of cost also. The major varieties of wood used for making the wooden toys are ? pine, walnut, mahogany, oak, ash, almond, olive, pear, afrormosia, fir, chestnut, Douglas and other essences. Once the wooden toys are made, they can be made attractive by adding colors to them using water colors, hydro painting and also using poliuretanic finish. The wooden toys are protected against termites if they are well painted. These can prolong the life of the wooden toys and can be played with for generations to come. Care should be taken that the wooden toys are not exposed to moist or water, else the quality of the wood would be spoilt and would wither into pieces.

Since these wooden toys are allures everyone who have love for decorative articles, we can sell these wooden toys made by us by approaching flats and apartments near our locality, shopping malls etc. We can also advertise about our wooden toys showroom online which can be viewed by many people and can buy them online. This would be a great way of marketing our wooden toys worldwide. We can also set up exhibitions in the fairs and theme parks whether many people gather and can do a live show of how we actually manufacture these toys. There are also several shows that are telecasted on the television where they teach children to make artistic articles, we can also enquire with those channels to advertise our product in their show. These make us earn lot of profit with little investment on wood.
