How To Model Car

    View:
Do you enjoy building model cars? Has it almost become a passion as much as a hobby? There can be one good way to expand on your hobby. You can join a model car club. Today it doesn't matter what kind of model car you collect there is a club out there that can go hand in hand with your passion. So, with so many out there how do you pick which one you want to go with? The first thing you need to do is to decide which type of club it is you are looking to join.

If you are joining a die cast model car club you will probably want to join one that deals with certain collections. Certain "Mint" collections will offer a selection of different cars based on a common factor, whether it be manufacturer of the original automobile or the year range that particular auto came out. These collector's club usually charge a set amount for each vehicle you purchase and then they will add in shipping. Sometimes as an incentive they will offer some sort of freebie gift to try and convince you to join.

If you do not mind paying a bit of money and are looking for a certain type of model car then this can be an okay way to go. You know you will get your car at a certain time each month and you know what it will cost you. The downside is that many of these collections do not usually gain in value. They are purely for the collector's personal enjoyment. Another is that if there is a month that you are not able to afford one of the cars or you do not like the one being offered then you may still have to purchase it. If you do not then what value you do have in the collection can drop significantly.

If you love to build models then there is a whole other avenue of options available to you as well. Many of the clubs for builders offer free memberships and have a lot more to offer as well. You can talk to fellow club members and get plenty of tips and hints on ways to improve your model making skills. You can also learn where to find hard to get models and paints. Model building clubs can be very interesting in that they are a very good way to meet people from all over the world that share a common interest with you.

There are also some pay per membership clubs out there for model builders as well. Some of these may resemble an "of the month" type club. Offering a different model car each month they will send you the build kit and you may have to purchase your paints separately. It may take a bit of searching to find one of these but with a little time and some Internet hunting you should be able to find the one you would like to join. Model car clubs are an interesting way to meet people no matter if you want to build your own or just collect die cast ones. All you have to do is find the one that makes you feel the most welcome.

1 Type of Car Auctions

Three types of car auctions are avalaible:

- Police Auctions where vehicles that have been seized by police departments and government agencies are offered to the public at fire sale prices ( up to 95% off). Many repo cars are almost brand new and with documented service history. , a website source can even offer a 3 month warranty free of charge.

- Online Car Auctions where cars are sold over the Internet . Every minute 1 vehicle is sold through eBay's auctions.

- Public Car Auctions offer good bargains. Most of the time televised, buyers can watch them and call in their bids . But due to the high exposure, popular cars become quickly overpriced.

It's an inherent issue in auctions. Auctions can be a great deal, but the price could also be more than common retail. It's no different at car auctions. The car's value can be quickly eclipsed by excited bidding.

Add the fees often associated with the auction and it means great care must be taken to know the real value of a car. Easily accessible date on car values is standard issue for auction buyers. Phones with Internet access can bring this info to your fingertips while attending. Even for the car of your dreams, don't bid more than its value.

2 Tips & Tricks

- Car auctions generally give potential buyers time to look over the cars.- Arrive early.

- Look around and ask to test drive the cars of interest.

- Always have on site car expertise, meaning bring a guy who knows his stuff about cars if you don't.

-Check the car thoroughly. The engine, body, interior and other physical elements for wear and tear should be in good status.

- Make sure you look at the given history of the car. Used cars that previously had been involved in any accident should not be priced too much.

- Do not bid too much for any car. If a car is overpriced due to competition, let it go.

- Check the pedals. For used cars, pedals are not changed. With this simple tip, you can determine the condition of the car.

- Look closely at the frame. A frame-damaged used car is an indication that the car has been involved in a major accident in the past.

- Check the paint , run a finger into the edges. If there are rough spots, it can indicates that there has been a major repair possibly from crash.

Don't forget, auctions can be actual good deals. Don't go in blind, however. If a deal appears too good to be true, it is, even at car auctions.

However, your overall impression on a used car will certainly tell you the truth.
