Do you stress over trying to remember schedules and appointments? Do you need to be able to access the internet on the road for email or information? If, so you consider getting one of the new PDA cell phones that are now available. I personally own a Treo, the same one that Jack Bauer uses in the series, 24. It makes my life a lot easier and I am sure that you will have similar feelings.
The new PDA cell phones are hybrids of the PDA of the past combined with a cell phone and optional access to the internet. These devices are fast becoming a popular, must have accessory for young urban professionals as well as others in sales related industries such as insurance, financial planning, and real estate whose jobs require them to be out of the office quite a bit. These hybrid devices have now made it unnecessary to carry along two separate gadgets, combining the benefits of both a cellular phone and a personal organizer. The sheer convenience and mobility all rolled into one are the main reasons for the popularity PDA cell phones.
One of the things I like most is the ability to use my phone to store many phone numbers that can be easily and quickly accessed like having your own phonebook. Some of the newer devices have huge storage available in the device themselves that will hold hundreds of names. In addition, many also offer the ability to install an optional data card for even more storage. I have one of these for my phone because I use the camera option a lot and the images take up a lot of space, especially movies! Another cool thing is that you can synch your PDA to your PC or laptop and download any data such as pictures or notes from meetings to your main computer.
One of the best uses for these new devices is to use them for scheduling all of your meetings and appointments. With a built in timekeeper you can even set alarms to notify you ahead of time so that you don't miss anything. Now you never have to worry about forgetting an important date or missing an appointment.
Like all new technology the PDA cell phones are evolving all the time and becoming better and easier to use as well as lower in price. The latest Treo even uses Windows and Microsoft Office products to help you have a virtual office in the palm of your hand. Once you try one of these your life will never be the same.
How To Organize Your Life
I get so intent while working, very often I forget about everything else or just plain don't have time for it. This causes me additional stress as I'm a person that is happier with an organized home and office. And wouldn't you know, when everything is organized, nobody stops by; I only get visitors when everything is in disarray.
But where do you find a professional person to organize? I looked in the Yellow Pages and was unable to find anyone. What you may not know is many of your local home cleaning companies now offer declutter and solutions to organize your life. Reviewing publications and periodicals in your area may lead you to just what you need.
And if that doesn't work for you and you insist on doing it yourself, find one of many self-help publications on the Internet; all you need to do is search on "organize".
It's much easier and much more pleasant to have someone do these mundane tasks. And when it's on a regular schedule, it's even better. A person to organize for you can be hired to do just about anything, whether it is something that has to do with work or functions in the home to organize.
Hiring a personal organizer is like hiring an applicant for any other job. You should prepare a list of questions that the person must be able to answer and if answered well, the job can be offered.
Here are some questions to consider asking your applicant:
1. How long has the person been helping people organize their life?
2. What type of organizing does the individual specialize in?
3. What area of work did he/she specialize in before working with people to organize?
4. What is the educational background of the person?
5. If the person has done this before, is a current reference list of contacts available?
6. Will he/she charge by the hour or by the job?
7. Is there a discount for ongoing service?
8. Is a complimentary working session available to determine if there service will complement your situation?
9. What are the suggestions the person can give regarding their first impression that he/she sees as in need of their service?
10. What assurance is there that the advice given will work for you? Will there be a follow-up session to assess the progress to determine if it works or not? Will there be semi-annual or quarterly check-ups offered to monitor progress?
11. Does the personal organizer know anyone that can be contacted if there is a need to establish additional organizational systems like built-ins, etc.?
Once you are able to find the right person to help organize your life, you will not have to worry about things that were once overlooked. You will discover your mind is more creative than you ever thought possible, enhancing your professional career and also allowing more satisfying activities into your life.
