I know a man named David who works for a national retailer. David works over 70 hours a week and when he arrives home from work, he is too tired to even enjoy his precious time off. After 14 years with his company, it seems as if the time has just flown by. He and his wife have just taken out a home equity loan on their home in order to help get ready for the twins college education bills.
David has two late model cars, Lexus's. One for him and Lori and an old beater that the twins share. David started working for retailer straight out of college because they had an attractive "fast start" program to help get new grads into the workforce. Now, it's 14 years later and he still works at the same company. Sadly, David can't even remember what's it's like to have a slower pace where he could actually sit down and take a rest. Vacations are few and always rushed when they do happen and it seems as if the twins grew up and he missed most of their lives. He knows that other people make good money in home-based businesses, MLM, Internet Marketing. etc. but he feels trapped by his job and wouldn't even know where to start or who to turn to for help. David really wants a quick change.
Does David's life sound familiar? David's life is a never ending cycle of boredom, struggle and remorse that his life isn't going in the direction that he intended when he was younger. He had dreams to set the world on fire as a teenager and now the highlight of his day is settling onto his couch with his remote control.
I'm not trying to get you down here. I want to help you remember the dreams you had when you knew nothing could stop you. The world was yours for the taking and you were just the one to do it. What kind of legacy are we leaving our children by living a life that we have just grown to accept?
We're born full of passion and desire to win. Life teaches us that we have to get good grades, so we can get into a good college and then get a good job. We graduate full of ambitions (and credit card debt) and then get married, have kids, tell them to get good grades, get into a good college...and on and on. Now we have taught our kids to just perpetuate the same cycle and to teach their kids to do the same. The sad part is that we are all conditioned to believe that is how life is supposed to be. Work hard, have a family, die. It's not quite that harsh but it's pretty close to reality.
This is not the life we imagined for ourselves in our youth. You are supposed to live life as you like...not as your employer demands. What happened to us? Life happened. We find ourselves sucked into a vacuum and by the time we realize it we have no idea how to get back to the lives we dreamt of.
Don't despair. It is not too late. This is the moment. You can make a quick change now by the power of decision. That is where the change in your life starts. I encourage you to recapture the life you deserve. Don't give in to intertia. I know you deserve the life of your dreams.
My intention is to inspire you to believe in your dreams again. You had them once and you can still live them. They are yours to achieve. Don't give in to thinking that it's too late. It's not. I know you can live your dreams if you dare to believe that it's possible for you. Believe...then change will come. Peace...
How To Quick Change
Some people get bored with their home décor, and feel the need to change it often. Of course, many folks don't have the time or money to make big changes every time they feel their home needs a little freshening up. But there are fast and easy ways to update your look without having to spend a lot of money.
Nothing brightens a room like a fresh coat of paint. Experiment with a bold new color. Don't be afraid to try something different. If you really hate it, you can paint right over it! This quick change will work in any room in the house. Most rooms can easily be painted in less than a day, and your room will look extra fresh and clean.
Pillows
Want a new look for your living room or bedroom? Buy some fabulous new throw pillows! You can add interesting punches of color and beautiful touches of fabric just by tossing some pillows onto the couch or bed. If you think you are tired of your furniture or bedding, adding new throw pillows may change your mind and add some extra mileage to that old sofa.
Candles and Flowers
Adding candles and flowers can brighten up most any room. Even if you already have both, change them often. If you use artificial flowers for you arrangements, it's easy to become so used to your floral touches that you don't even notice them anymore. Change your arrangements every month or so to keep the room looking fresh. Candles can also be changed to add a touch of a different color or a wonderful new scent. Hanging candle holders make an interesting and bold choice, and will add a touch of elegance to any wall.
Mirrors and Wall Art
Changing the items you have hanging on your wall is one of the best ways to make your room look brand new. Replace the painting over your fireplace with a mirror or some metal work for an elegant change. Also, consider changing your artwork a few times a year. Perhaps you could choose art with a color palette that will compliment your seasonal decorating. Even if you are on a limited budget, there are specialty stores that sell beautiful prints and paintings at very reasonable prices. Also, visit your local art galleries. While not everything will be within your price range, there are likely to be some pieces that you can afford.
Accessories
Swapping out the items you have on shelves and tables in your rooms is a quick and easy way to help freshen up the look of any room in a matter of minutes. While some people don't like change, others grow bored with their decorating. This is an economical way to get the most mileage out of your décor.
You don't need a lot of time to make changes that will brighten up your home. In just one day you can make small changes that will make a big impact.
