How Vacation Certificates Can Help Your Business

Your sales turnover can increase by as much as 30% by using vacation certificates as incentives. What is the one word that attracts the attention of anybody that sees it? What word is the one word that is use by more people in Internet searches than any other word: the world's favorite keyword? If you are involved in sales, you will know the answer to that. If you are involved in business you should know the answer to it, and if you are a consumer then you probably know the answer.



That word is FREE. If you want to attract attention, then use the word FREE. Use it in big bold characters, underlined and in red! That one word is guaranteed to attract more people than any other. However, it can be a double-edged sword since it can dilute the quality of your prospects. Rather than a useful list of interested prospects, suddenly you have a massive and growing list of people looking for freebies.

What you must do then is to analyse the sales from the ‘freebie' list and determine how to qualify the free gift offers. You don't just open your window and throw out a whole load of incentive vouchers with your companies logo and address on it and expect to generate business. However, how about this scenario:

You are a sales company relying on telephone appointments prior to sending the foot soldiers to make the offer of the conservatories or next generation in vacuum cleaners, and hopefully clinch a sale. How often are the householders actually in the house at the appointed time? Many just agree to an appointment in order to get the caller off the phone, and then leave the house before the time. You don't get the call and miss an opportunity.

However, what if you offered them a free cruise to the Bahamas if they are at home when the salesperson calls. He will provide them with vouchers just for listening to his presentation. You get the call, get the presentation and have a chance of getting the order. Most salesmen know that if they get a foot in the door, they can get a sale. Studies have shown that you can increase your sales by 30% from such calls simply by ensuring that the householders answer the door on the promise of a free vacation.

Vacation certificates are worth their weight in gold to your business. Their cost is nothing compared to the benefits to your bottom line. That is what counts, not how you got it there. You can offer certificates for free cruises, hotel breaks, resort breaks, flights, 2 for 1 offers and even auto supplies, legal and dental discounts and golf club memberships.

You can use them in a number of ways, not only as described above. Their use is limited only by your imagination. Offer them as bonuses for return sales or back-end purchases, use them online as gifts for joining your down-line, or purchasing your ebook. You can use them in email promotions, and in all of these you can eliminate the freebie hunters by offering them in exchange for something, such as opening the door to a salesperson, or purchasing a product.

How can firms offer these certificates free? How can you get a luxury cruise to Mexico, paying only the taxes and administration costs of a few dollars? Simple! These companies do not sell all of their cabins, seats or hotel rooms. They have unfilled space so rather than have them empty they give them away free in the knowledge that they are likely to get cross-sales and back-end sales, such as people using their casinos and gift shops, eating from the restaurants and even being so impressed with their break that return with the family for a full vacation.

It is to their benefit and to yours. Everybody wins, and it is difficult to see a downside. Even if you can't use them yourself, you can sell them and receive a commission on those you sell, and get paid whenever they are redeemed. You should not find it difficult because everybody loves a 'freebie' and companies love any marketing trick that gets them increased sales.

Vacation certificates are increasing in popularity, and an increasing number of businesses are using them It is a complete no-brainer because nobody can lose through their use, and everybody gains something from it: the company using them, the customer who is given them, the reseller getting the commission and the vacation company getting the business and referrals they otherwise would not have had.
