Some Internet marketers subscribe to the "passion theory"; choosing a niche based on passions(s). While others believe it's better to find a need in the marketplace and develop a niche to fill it.
I can tell you from personal experience, I've done niche blogging both ways. In my particular case, they both proved productive and profitable, yet still, I know in which direction I will go from here on in.
Lets see if this makes sense for you by first asking yourself these 3 questions:
1. if I commercialize my passion(s), will I continue to enjoy them in the same way I do today?
2. Will I still enjoy my passion(s) if I'm "working" with them 8 or more hours a day?
3. And if my passion becomes my work, what will I do on my "off-time"?
PASSION THEORY
you see, from personal experience, when I chose to create a niche around my passion, everything about my passion became work related. My passion became a business and I had to think too much about "other people" and what they wanted to know and learn and buy relative to my passion.
Ultimately, my passion became my job and during my free time the last thing I wanted to do was anything relative to my passion.
MARKET DEMAND
When I chose a niche based on market demand, and kept my passions out of the equation, I had a life. I focused on my niche during working hours, and then I had my passions to enjoy and relax with during off-hours.
Generally, our passions are our hobbies. Our hobbies are things we do to relax and immerse ourselves in something we thoroughly enjoy. It's our downtime, away from work and the chaos of our lives; our sanctuary.
When you start to monetize and market your passions, they tend to lose their tranquil effect and before long there is no distinction between what we do for work and what we do for fun. You know the old saying...."all work and no play....?
When you choose a niche based on business reasons, and you go to your computer to start your business day, it's all business. It's the part of your day where you are focused on providing products or services in exchange for financial compensation, and that's that. Of course you do so with integrity and compassion for your customers, but at the end of the day, you can leave the work and "go home" to your life and your passions.
It sounds very black and white. And for most folks it will be. But there's also a gray area to consider.
PROFESSIONAL PASSION
a passion for providing something of value to others that can only be offered in the business world. A passion that provides a service to others that you have the skills, experience and knowledge to provide, and you enjoy doing so. A professional "calling", if you will.
Such an example would be my professional passion for training. Teaching people and sharing knowledge with others about topics I know and love. Creating training manuals and implementing training programs and executing training courses is something I have loved doing since I was a young child when I use to "teach" my younger brother everything under the sun, much to his dismay!
So for me, choosing a niche based on my passion for training, and considering my personal areas of knowledge and experience, eliminated the niche blogging roadblock that you may very well be facing right now.
I hope "my take" has offered you some helpful "food for thought" and will make your own personal niche blogging decisions easier.

If you are interested in visiting one the most popular holiday resorts in Spain, then Benidorm is a great choice. This Valencian coastal town is crowded every year by many tourists who come to celebrate the Interantional Song Festival, to visit its theme parks and enjoy a wonderful time on the sunny beaches. To be able to welcome such a large number of foreigners, Benidorm hotels prepare and do their best to attract future clients. However great the number of Benidorm hotels might be, it is best to book rooms in advance and search for the services and facilities you want before getting there. You do not want any surprises.
Benidorm stands out for its beaches (Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas) and tourist-oriented industry that includes numerous hotels to accommodate visitors. The hotels in Benidorm have a high standard of quality (the highest) recognized by the European Union. Their services are impeccable and the competition between them makes the tourists benefit from affordable prices as well. In fact, it is almost impossible for anyone to say that he has not found the suitable Benidorm hotel for his taste and financial possibilities.
Because of the fame of the area, the hotels in Benidorm are usually full. Some tourists prefer the Benidorm hotels near one of the three major beaches, like Gran Hotel Bali, which is not only a four star hotel, but one that impresses through height also (186 meters). If you book a room in this hotel, you'll have something to tell your friends when you return home: ?I stayed in the tallest building in Spain, a real skyscraper!? And if you pick height as a criterion of choice for your Benidorm hotels, you don't necessarily have to stay in Gran Hotel Bali because there are 310 buildings over 35 meters high. It's almost like you're in New York!
There are ove 170 hotels in Benidorm. For this reason, people who come here are always satisfied in terms of accommodation. Choices regarding Benidorm hotels range from basic accommodations to five star luxury buildings. People should take into consideration the amenities they want when looking for a place to stay. There are many cheap hotels in Benidorm, but they are quite far away from the core of the city and from the beach. In order to find the right place to stay in the multitude of hotels in Benidorm, you should compare facilities as well as prices. Larger Benidorm hotels will have swimming pools, restaurants and may be closer to tourist attractions than smaller, less expensive places. It is all a matter of priorities during vacation time. If you are a family person travelling with children during summer time, you may want a hotel with a pool and other activities for the kids to enjoy. Keeping them occupied might mean a more relaxing time for you. In case your visit is due to business problems, you have to choose one of the Benidorm hotels as close as possible to your meeting location. You might also want to consider other details that can make your business trip as relaxing as possible (perhaps a Jacuzzi?)
One of the newest hotels in Benidorm is the Mediterraneo Hotel Benidorm. Opened in 2003, the low level four star hotel is focused on satisfying the clients? needs. The quality of the services offered, the extensive gardens and the large pool area make this option very attractive. Not that the other Benidorm hotels are not just as interesting or as welcoming. There are other hotels in Benidorm that do have the same facilities, but the Mediterraneo Hotel Benidorm is also very close to the Levante Beach, known as the Rising Beach. This is the beach that is mostly frequented by a younger, single crowd, where you can take topless sun baths because it is more secluded. If you do not want to go to the beach, but still enjoy taking a nice sunbath, you can always use the pool facilities of those hotels in Benidorm that have them. The large freshwater pools, the terraces and the sundowners can make these the perfect places to relax and unwind.
When choosing one of the hotels in Benidorm, one can also think of the accommodations close to a good selection of bars and restaurants or to the city attractions such as Terra Mitica. Benidorm hotels close to the amusement parks for children of all ages, Aqualandia Water Amusement Park, the Terra Natura Park and Cactuslandia can be the most appropriate choice for your children. This way you can find great ways of having fun with them and relaxing as well. If you also want to rent a car, you can see all of the above, be in the middle of the exciting life and pay less by booking a room in one of the Benidorm hotels further away from the beach. So, there are a lot of options.
When planning your vacation, spend some time researching the variety of attractions and accommodations in the Benidorm area. The numerous hotels in Benidorm will make your stay a comfortable one and give you the opportunity to do something interesting every day.
