I Need A Dog

    View:
Nutritional needs are perhaps the most important aspect of dog health, and of course a dog's nutritional needs are completely different to members of the human species. Dogs need a certain balance of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to make sure their digestive systems as well as the skeletal system, joints, and organs are kept as healthy as possible. Holistic dog diets usually require proteins, vegetables, and a small amount of grains. They do not need fillers and over-processed foods that are so often a feature of commercial dog foods.

Using a variety of essential oils, plant extracts, herbs and flowering essences, people have treated numerous ailments and conditions over the past thousands of years. Ancient healing practices have found their way into the field of pet healthcare in the recent times, to keep up with the increasing demand for a more natural approach to dog health diagnosis and treatment.

Canine herbal remedies include calendula and chamomile for treating wounds, with chamomile used to give relief for respiratory compaints as well. Flaxseed mixed with lots of water may help cure dogs who are constipated or have other bowel problems. Oats may help soothe your dog's dry, itchy skin, and smelling lavender may help your pooch get some shut-eye if he is having difficulty sleeping.

Ask your veterinarian for his or her input and recommendations when it comes to holistic dog health and using all-natural remedies for their care, but if your vet is not open to alternative health methods, do your own research, and you might even want to consider switching to a vet who is more open to alternative methods.

There are an increasing number of veterinarians these days who are putting great stock in holistic dog health, making it a large part of their practice. A veterinarian who practices holistic pet care treats animals as a whole, rather than identifying a certain problem and prescribing one type of treatment related to that specific injury or illness.

A dog health diagnosis from a holistic vet is likely to look at the dog as a whole, so treating one dog with itchy skin may be different to treating another with similar symptoms, depending upon enivorenmental factors.

While a "regular" vet would probably prescribe an antibiotic to treat most skin irritations and infections, as well as a topical ointment to address the itching, a holistic veterinarian will probably place more emphasis on finding out what could have caused the rash to occur in the first place, which, of course, was the root of the infection. With holistic care, the dog's indoor and outdoor environment, his daily lifestyle, eating habits and nutritional intake are all taken into consideration before attempting to diagnose or treat the animal.
I Need A Dog
Dogs are social animals by nature hence their ability to interact so well with human beings. The domestic dog is one that has been trained to obey its master's commands totally. Wild dogs usually move in packs and can be extremely ferocious because they are untamed.

Part of training your dog is to let it know when it has done something wrong. You use consistent words to let your dog know when it was blundered such as ?try again? or oh-oh. Make sure that your dog knows when it has done right or wrong.

You need to understand that the mind of a dog is linear if you want to train it successfully. A dog can understand a string of commands in one setting but may have to be reeducated with the same string of commands in another setting. A dog that obeys a sit command at home may be confused when you order it to sit in a park because of the change of location.

The note with which you end a training session with your dog counts. If you end a training session with your dog as an unhappy or vexed note, it will be less than enthusiastic for the next day's training. When the training session finishes up on a good note, your dog is bound to look forward to the next day.

Always reward your dog for positive behavior and punish it for bad behavior. Your dog should be able to know the difference between good behavior and bad behavior as dictated by you. Basically, a dog only knows what you want it to know in the course of training.

A dog is usually trained in line with its instinctive characteristics. A naturally territorial dog is trained to be a guard dog because of its inherent traits of territory protection. A naturally protective and tender dog is trained to be a herd dog in accordance with its traits.

If your dog training commands don't seem to be having any effect on the behavior of your dog, don't be quick to blame yourself. A dog may fail to respond to a string of commands because of physical or psychological disorders. Take your dog to see a dog behavioral analyst if your dog is acting out of order.
