Working with a mortgage lender who is knowledgeable about the markets, looking at yield curves and who studies your individual situation to devise the perfect mortgage strategy for you is going to save you a lot of money over the life of your home loan. It can probably save you tens of thousands of dollars in total mortgage costs, rather than less than $100 per year.

This is not a difficult concept to understand, but with all the emphasis that lenders put on interest rates, it is an idea that can get lost in the shuffle. Quite simply, choosing the right mortgage strategy is the most important home loan (hypotheque) decision you can make, and finding a mortgage broker who can assist you with it is the first step.
