Ideas For Wall Decor

    View:
If you stay in a huge house, you may wish to consider adding some decorative items to your wall. After all, long stretches bare walls may make your home look boring. When you think of wall decorations, the most obvious items that come to mind are paintings and photo frames. To add a fresh touch to your interior decoration, you may wish to consider adding medieval shields to your walls.

Medieval shields may not be as commonly seen as paintings or photos. Therefore, adding medieval shields to your wall will help create a more refreshing look. When placed in prominent places, they tend to attract a lot of attention and can make be the subjects of interesting conversations. Just be sure that you know something about the background of the shields so that you can carry out meaningful conversations with your guests!

Today, there are many types of medieval shields for sale. These are live sized shields that are mostly replicas of the real thing. Some are even fully functional and battle ready! They range from historic shields such as the viking shield to completely fictitious shields such as the Lord of the Ring Gondorian Shield (Limited Edition). Other examples of historic swords include the shield of King Charles V, the Knights of Jerusalem Shield, the Northern crusaders shield, and more.

In general, medieval shields come in three different shapes - long triangle, round, or oval. The long triangular shield has three points. Its shape is elongated, and usually covers a larger portion of the body compared to shields of other shapes.

The other commonly seen shape is the round shield. The viking shield is the perfect example. It is simple, made from wood, and looks completely round. As it is usually lighter than other shields, a round shield can be highly effective in close up combat. The shield, therefore, also reflects the fight style of its owner.

Rectangular or oval shaped shields are also available, but they are rarer. The Roman Legionnaire's battle shield is an example of a rectangular shield. Note that different shields are used for different purposes. Some are used for jousting, while others are used for closed up combat. Shields that ate meant to go up against strong spears are much larger and heavier.

One unique feature of shields is that there are beautifully designed logos embedded on the shields. These make the shields perfect items for decorative purposes. The logos can come in many different shapes and colors, and they are set against wood or a shiny metal. Many are even equipped with chain hangers and brackets at the back of the shield for attaching swords.

Together with a pair of medieval swords, the wall decoration becomes a complete set. Now you will never have to spend another day staring at boring walls!
Ideas For Wall Decor
Have you ever thought of plaques as wall decor? Typically, we think of plaques as a means of showing gratitude for a retiring employee, to indicate a house number, or to reveal someone's job title. However, we can also use plaques as a form of wall art. When combined with other types of wall art, including mirrors, paintings, and grilles, plaques can add a perfect finishing touch to any wall in your home. However, it is important to pick the right plaques for the right walls. Here are some tips to assist you in your mission:

1. Select a plaque that is sturdy

While it is important to select an attractive plaque, you want one that last longer than a day, a week, or a month. Generally, metals such as iron create excellent plaques. Wrought iron is a pure iron that companies use for commercial purposes. The amount of carbon it contains is extremely low. Wrought iron contains many properties that make it ideal for various types of wall art. It is sturdy, pliable, and one can weld it easily.

2. Use wall plaques inside and outside your home

One of the benefits of wall plaques is that you can use them on walls inside and outside, your home. Besides serving as excellent accents indoors, you can also use them on the exterior of your home as well. You can install them in outdoor areas such as gardens, patios, and so on. For instance, you could place a plaque behind various pieces of patio furniture. Whether you use them indoors or outdoors, plaques can help to complete any space in those regions.

3. Use plaques to spice up a bedroom

If you want to add plaques to the walls of your bedroom, then you have several options. You could use a plaque to create an attractive headboard for your bed. Another option is to add smaller groups of iron plaques and other wall decor, over your bed.

4. Select a plaque that matches the theme of the room

When choosing plaques for various rooms, consider which plaques would match well with the theme of the room. For instance, you may be interested in more traditional styles, such as Gothic or Renaissance. However, you could also select more contemporary styles, if you want to give the room a more chic look. Other options include plaques that appear more natural or rural.

5. Use wall plaques to add extra texture and depth to any room

Sure, you could simply apply paint or wallpaper to the interior walls of your home. However, plaques help to add additional texture and depth. This can make a wall come alive, creating a three-dimensional effect and a blend of smooth and rough textures.

If you want to add modern wall decor to your home, then consider wall plaques. Such pieces can add texture, depth and style on both the interior and exterior of your home. Plaques can also help to complement other types of wall decor. Unleash the power of plaques!
