A passive learner in a distance learning setting will be more inclined to favor textual materials and not audio or visually oriented media.

You can't pursue an online masters program if you don't first have a degree. You also need to consider the quality of the materials of a distance program before you sign on.

Shorthand can be argued to be the reason why we have distance learning today.
