Many internet marketers long to know how my mind works when it comes to affiliate marketing. Wow, that is a broad subject and not something one can possibly discuss in just one article. So perhaps I will publish the whole series of these so you can get to understand how I personally think when it comes to promoting an affiliate product. I now present to you the first in that series.



I guess the very initial thing I do, when searching for an affiliate product to promote, is investigate what it is that people are searching for? What challenges do they encounter? Are they serious issues? Are they issues where, as a result of their severity, people are ready and willing to spend money on? Note, you can't sell anything that people are not ready to pull out their wallet and pay for. I don't give a damn how great the product is. With the business boom on the internet, there are numerous things that can be possessed for FREE. So you have to be cautious when picking a niche to target and a product to promote.

What I normally do is to visit the forums and discussion groups to spy on what people are blaring about in regard to that niche. I don't even partake in the conversation unless I have a specific question I need to ask. I just closely observe what's transpiring. Usually, just by doing this, I can detect where the need is. People are easily predictable, like it or not. Most people are very much alike when it comes to some certain issues. If you visit the forums, you will notice the same complaints over and over again. After a little while, you will get a highly detectable sense of what it is that these people really need. From there, it's just a matter of looking for a product that satisfies that desire.

Sound easy? Like it or not, it is. Internet marketers are the ones who complicate the whole process. They search for some hidden treasure. There is no treasure indeed. When John Doe has a zit in the centre of his forehead and has to get rid of it before the big dance and no counter medication could be of help to him, he's in dire need of some kind of magical solution. If you have one, he will be at your doorstep.

Like I said earlier……….so easy.
