It should be installed as a floating floor with enough free space for its movement along the whole perimeter of the room. It should never be fixed to the sub-floor.

How much the floor movement is possible in keeping with the staircases, walls, pipes and other fixed objects in the room, should be considered and calculated before the installation, with regard to the changes in temperature and relative humidity of the place. In normal climate the expansion is generally 1/4". This should be particularly seen when installing the Pergo at corners, openings like doors, archways and also at angles.

Before installing a Pergo, allow it to acclimatize in the unopened cartons at least 48 hours before it is put on. In extreme climates like very dry or humid environment allow at least 96 hours for its acclimatization.
