Most internet users do not have a single clue regarding what internet marketing is all about. The only thing they might come up with would be the numerous advertisements on getting rich or the characters ready to rip off the innocent and uninformed consumer at the click of a mouse! Nevertheless, this is not true, as internet marketing is populated mainly with hard working professionals promoting and selling high quality brand products by many of the best companies in the world.

A whole range of companies, hosting providers, web designers and advertising agencies are handling the e-commerce, which has launched a whole new creature. I am speaking about the internet marketer. He or she is the person who makes an honest living by helping and facilitating, in one form or another, all this online activity.

Nowadays, the one large global consumer base or marketplace is made up of over a billion of internet users and the total amount of goods sold online has been increasing each year as the internet gains in both popularity and familiarity. Most of the people who use to shop online do it because of lower prices, a wider selection of products and easier comparison between several products when shopping. Another major advantage of buying stuff over the internet is the fact that they do not have to travel to stores to make a purchase.

Given all these facts, why do people not trust a person who works full time on the internet, as an Internet marketer? Could it be because of the fact that they do not even know for sure what such a field is really about. No matter what people might say, internet marketing has become a very good alternative for many professionals who were not at all happy with their working hours or conditions. It works wonders for many people from all walks of life, from the college student to the bored housewife. They can all be enjoying a part time or full time income from the comfort of their homes.

The forms of internet marketing can cover all that you can ever wish for and there are many online business models that you can follow. There are countless ways to earn a good honest income from the internet. Depending on the marketing style you are most comfortable working with, you can choose any of the possible paths to take. Your working habits and your background can also greatly influence your choice.

Many acupuncturists, including myself, use the internet as one of the primary means to bring new patients in the door.

But very few of us are really tapping into the unlimited potential that the internet has to offer. In fact, I would guess that about 10% of the hundreds of alternative health sites I have seen offer the total package that makes the viewer want what is being offered right NOW. Why?

COPYWRITING 101

Copywriting is basically sales speak. It is a way of communicating that makes people want to buy from you. Joe Vitale, one of the stars of the movie the Secret and a master marketer, calls this hypnotic writing. Basically, you want your reader to be hypnotized by the power and persuasion of your writing. How do you do this?

Write from their perspective. Get into their ego and solve the problems they may be having. Always do this instead of talking about yourself! How many sites have I seen where the homepage is all about the practice, the philosophy, etc. NO! Talk to that reader, solve their problems right away, ease their mind.

It's all about the benefits vs. the features. Talk about the benefits you reader will receive when they see you, not the features of your practice. They don't care about that yet. They only want to know if you can solve their problem. And, on the internet, where everyone has A.D.D. you have about 3 seconds to do this. So the copy has to be hypnotic! Get them to pay attention.

Also, make sure that you have a call to action on your home page. Many sites have a ton of good information, but it does not naturally guide the viewer to take immediate action.

If you write from the perspective of solving your patients problems, not only for your website but in ALL of your marketing materials, your success level will go nowhere but up.

There is more to a site that sells than copywriting, but that is a HUGE piece of the puzzle. Infuse all of your marketing materials with this approach and you will undoubtedly find them to be much more effective. Take it a step further and learn how to speak to your patients in this way. Getting into their ego and seeing life through their eyes is one of the hallmarks of being both a skilled practitioner and an astute marketer.
