Believe it or not, THEY ARE BOTH CORRECT. The confusion lies in the fact they are talking about two different things.



When you hear health experts state there is no cold sore cure, they can be talking about only one thing. Right now we have no know way to remove the cold sore virus permanently from the body. It is the herpes simplex virus that causes cold sores. Once infected with the cold sore causing herpes simplex virus, you own the virus for life.

The herpes virus, when not replicating - causing cold sores - hides extremely well. This tiny, living particle will hibernate inside the nerve cells deep below the surface. When dormant, this virus completely shuts down - giving off no signs of life - therefore impossible to find and destroy.

But even if there were a way to eliminate this cold sores virus, you would just get it back again. The World Health Organization estimates that 90% of the world population currently carry this extremely contagious virus.

BUT, THOSE WHO CLAIM THERE IS A COLD SORE CURE ARE ALSO RIGHT!

You see - doctors have always claimed a cure when they eliminate the symptoms of a disease. For example, in many cases, a type 2 diabetic, by eating right and taking the right herbs and vitamins, can eliminate the outward symptoms of diabetes (like I did). As long as no symptoms exist, the diabetic is considered cured.

All diseases are diagnosed based on identifiable symptoms. Although you may carry the root cause of the disease, you are not diagnosed as having the disease unless you display the symptoms. With cold sores, this is true also. The main symptom of cold sores is the actual outbreak on the nostril or lip.

So, a cold sore cure, by medical definition then, is a treatment that eliminates the cold sore symptoms - the actual cold sore outbreaks - now and in the future.

In trying to find a cold sore cure, we should not be looking to remove the virus from the body. This is a futile task. We should, instead, be focusing on eliminating the cold sore symptoms and preventing future cold sores.

Did you know? About 44% of those carrying the herpes virus never get cold sores. Some lucky people have a built in cold sore cure and will never experience a cold sore. Others, like us, have to work at preventing cold sores.

A lot of great cold sore treatment products are available. Some, like drug store products, work only as comfort remedies. Do not expect these to heal or prevent cold sores to any great degree. You are unique. No other person is quite like you. For this reason, what works for others may not be the best cold sore cure for you.

If you are bothered with cold sores, there is a cold sore cure for you. That is the truth. It may be as simple as applying ice at first sign, or taking a vitamin supplement every day. You will have to try different cold sore remedies, and maybe combine them, to find or create the perfect cold sore cure for yourself.
