For the best, cheapest food, go to a small restaurant which just has two or three tables out on the pavement. Youll also find western fast food restaurants.

Israel has a large area of desert. More than half of the country is taken up by it, the rest is fertile land. The north sees a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. In summer the coast sees muggy mornings but pleasant afternoons and the inland hills see dry and sunny daytime conditions with temperatures dropping at night: winter brings both heavy rain and the odd snow shower. The desert area is obviously very hot but nights are chilly and crisp.
