The coastal town of Jaco in Costa Rica may be small, yet it is undoubtedly very developed and is indeed one of the most popular tourist destinations in Costa Rica. Merely 2 hours away from Costa Rican capital San Jose, Jaco Beach is the closest beach there is to the nation's center. As such, backpackers, surfers, solitary tourists, and people who simply love to party on the beach come in droves to this energizing little town.
But it's not just its proximity to the capital of Costa Rica that makes this festive town all the rage. It is also known for its stirring night life. Discos, beach clubs and bars practically come alive with throngs of youngish people, foreigners and locals alike, moving in and out and partying to their heart's content. What's more, people with quieter pursuits are not to be left with nothing to indulge in. Restaurants, bistros, gift shops and art galleries abound, and there are all sorts of food, drink and services that can cater to practically any taste or interest.
Special mention should be made of Christmas and the Easter season, deemed very special occasions in Jaco Beach. During these times, the party mode is set to an even higher notch as the beach party crowd gathers in Jaco to dance, dine and drink to these merry times.
Needless to say, Jaco Beach is also famous for its spectacular surf, attracting wave riders from all over the world, be they beginners or veteran surfers. Particularly, Jaco Beach is notable for its constant waves, making for year-round top notch surfing conditions. As to be expected, the party atmosphere is further ignited during the annual surfing tournaments held in Jaco Beach. Also, several foreigners who have come to Jaco Beach for these tournaments, North Americans in particular, have grown to love the place so much that they decided to stay and set up their own surf shops and other such ventures, like clothing, souvenirs and bike rentals, to add to the already thriving business milieu in Jaco Beach.
You don't have to be a surfer to enjoy the magnificent beaches here, either. Sunbathing and swimming are also popular alternatives. You may also take a canopy tour, and explore the place on horseback or on a bike or a car which you can rent out from one of the many rental shops here.
Yet other activities that you may treat yourself to during your stay in this fun town would include nature trips and tours of the many nature reserves in the area. Like the rest of Costa Rica, Jaco Beach puts a lot of value on the preservation of nature. Among these would be the town's three-kilometer coastline, of course, which is fringed on the shore by a rich stretch of tropical greenery.
Jaco also comes complete with everyday amenities and services such as banks, shops and specialty stores, supermarkets, and pharmacies, aside from the restaurants and bars already mentioned.
Naturally, hotels, home sites, prime lots and other accommodation facilities mean big business in Jaco Beach. Prices of real estate in Jaco Beach are understandably a bit higher than those in neighboring areas, but these are still reasonable and are still affordable. It must also be emphasized that having real estate in Jaco Beach is an investment well made. Properties on sale here can be snapped up in an instant, especially since a lot of these are homes and lots with surfing right at the very doorstep.
And because Jaco is home to the world-renowned Marriott Los Suenos resort, known for having the only marina offering full service south of Mexico and prior to Panama, Jaco real estate would make a very substantial investment. This is made even more solid with plans to build a road connecting to San Jose which will cut travel time to just a little over an hour. Aside from this, there is an 18-hole golf course and several restaurants. Prices of condominiums start in the range of $500's, while home sites start at $900,000, and those for finished homes start at $2 million.
Anyone looking for a holiday resthouse or seeking to speculate into the real estate venture would do well to have a look at the real estate in Jaco Beach.
