You hear those words day in and day out. Someone starts an internet business today, three weeks pass and the same individual who was excited about starting an internet business three weeks ago now quits. How can you avoid getting into this situation? There are a couple of things that you have to know before you start so that this does not happen to you.



Pick a product that you are proud to sell. You may be an affiliate or you may be selling your own product but either way it is important to sell something that you feel good about. People feel what you feel when you talk to them. If you don't feel good about the product that you are selling your prospect will not feel good about the product. Make sure that the product is also something that is in demand. You do not want to be the only person who likes the product.

You have to have a business plan. Yes folks. This is probably the biggest reason that so many quit their internet business within the first month. An internet business is not a hobby. You have to have an advertising budget of how you are going to market your business on a monthly basis. Setup a budget that you are comfortable with and stick with it. In the beginning you should reinvest everything that you earn until you start earning a significant profit.

Use a daily planner. This is not the same as a business plan. A planner will help you stay organize to get things done daily. This will help you complete daily activities that are part of your business plan. If you do not write down the tasks that must be completed it will be difficult to stay organized and take the right action. You will forget things. You may spend to much time thinking about daily activities. Things that could have been completed in four hours may take eight due to lack of organization.

Educate yourself. People that are successful with their internet business did not get there because they were lucky. You have to learn how to market online. You can do this by studying successful websites, investing in an internet marketing course, and even investing in offline courses that teach you how to sell. One of the biggest mistakes made by many is that they do not personally contact prospects in their business. Those who combine email with their phones increase their productivity.

Think Longterm. Setup short term goals and longterm goals. Short term goals will help you achieve your longterm goals. The success that you are looking for is not going to happen overnight. If you follow the steps above and you think long term, you will not be one of millions that says I've had it with this internet business, you will be part of the small percentage that is able to enjoy what they have built for a lifetime.
