The moving company will get in touch with you within twenty-four hours prior to the expected delivery time. The easier it is for the long distance movers to unload your items into your new home, the quicker and less expensive this process will be.

The Parking Situation

Parking may or may not be a problem, depending on your new location, but be sure to plan ahead, as to avoid any additional long carry charges that would apply in case the distance from your residence to the truck is over the limit, which is usually 150 feet.

Parking shouldn’t be an issue if you have moved to California. Just make sure that your street is wide enough for the truck and that there are no truck restrictions.

For New Yorkers, you will probably need to reserve a parking spot the night before, as parking may be more difficult. You may also be required to obtain permits. While you are at it, you may also have to reserve the elevator as well.

It feels great to have a fresh start, so give your new home a thorough clean before the movers arrive with your household items. Then you can put your furniture in clean rooms, your kitchenware in clean cabinets, and your clothes in a clean dresser.
