Homecomings are great opportunities to socialize and make merry. These week long celebrations that are held regularly throughout the country are jubilant events where young high school students engage many fun activities to celebrate the homecoming week in style. There are several ways in which homecoming is celebrated all over the place and they are all in good spirits no matter how different they are from each other.



There is, however, one common tradition that is followed everywhere and that is the official crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen. In some schools of course only a king or a queen can be chosen but they are chosen nonetheless. The title of the homecoming queen is a very coveted one and it is often a very important thing for some girls who attach a lot of value to the title.

So what makes a homecoming queen so popular? The answer is actually multi-layered because it is not just one thing that makes a girl become homecoming queen. She has to have something that sets her apart from the other girls around her, something that makes her popular and makes everyone vote for her and not the other nominees. In fact, to get even nominated is pretty big in it self.

So the first criterion of a homecoming queen is obviously her popularity and how quickly people are willing to follow her and vote for her. To become that popular you need to work at your people skills but it just comes naturally to some. So they just become popular without trying too hard. Usually however, the popularity of the homecoming queen is not only based on how she treats other people but also on her actions. This means everything she has done for her school or her varsity and other activities that may not be directly related. She may be a very bright student who has been nationally recognized or she may be a very good athlete who has brought the school or varsity many prizes. So it is usually someone who is quite outstanding.

There is also another factor involved here and that is charm. Charm is something that can make up for any thing that is missing and without it, it is very hard to get by for someone who wants to win on popular votes. This is why sometimes people gush about homecoming queens being very 'hot' but they aren't always referring to the chosen girl being physically attractive but they are also saying that people want to be in her company. She is actively sought out by people and that means she is in demand all over the place. This is what I would refer to as being 'hot'.

And you will notice this being true in a lot of situations where it is not necessarily the prettiest or the most beautiful girl who is the most popular. It is someone who has a personality that is attractive and is dynamic enough to attract friends from a very wide range of people.
