Eye contact is a part of body language that many women do not think too much about. Eye contact, however, can be used to genuinely create attraction between a man and a woman. Think about this - the iconic flirting "picture" is a woman batting her eyelashes, right? Well, there is a lot more to it than that, but they have the right idea!
Holding someone's gaze for longer than they hold yours sends out a VERY powerful signal of attraction and intent. It's not a staring contest - it's a fine-tuned way of giving him a great signal he may not even CONCIOUSLY recognize.
So to use this in flirtation and attraction - if you see a man who (literally) catches your eye - do not be the one to break the eye contact first. It seems uncomfortable at first - most women are very USED to looking away first. But if you want to up his level of attraction - hold your eye contact with him.
Since most women seem incapable of doing that - it is something he is going to notice about you right away. For a man - different is good when it comes to attraction. Your gaze will intrigue him, and his curiosity is exactly what you want.
As with anything, though practice makes perfect. Go somewhere public or take a walk down the street. Practice looking every single guy you see right in the eye, until he looks the other way. Keep practicing until you get COMFORTABLE with this - and that may take a while!
Keep in mind, though, you are not trying to be overbearing or creepy with this. You are not trying to make him LESS than you or submit to you. You are trying to get his ATTENTION. So when you finally strike up a conversation with him, DO look away naturally every once in a while.
After the conversation has continued for a while and you have made some good headway with him, be sure to let something else catch your attention briefly. If you can, chat briefly with another person or "see" someone you know and wave. Let your attention be diverted from him. Then - when you come back to him, it is more exciting to him seeing that he may have to work to hold your attention.
On your first date with him, too, you can do even more to keep him guessing just a little bit. Act a little "friendlier" than usual - not like flirty friendly - but like a buddy. This will make him a little unsure of his effect on you, and will keep him trying harder to grab your interest.
This kind of "attraction foreplay" will really do a lot to keep him interested in you and keep him coming back for more. The last thing you want is for him to get bored or complacent - so keep him on his toes and guessing!
