Traditional TV's use cathode ray tubes to stimulate the image on the screen. Such images are not uniformly focused and the picture clarity is very less. Whereas with respect to plasma TV's the structure of the screen eliminates such problems. The pictures are clear and uniform and can be seen at 160 degrees.

Lcd TV's ? liquid crystal display televisions, use LCD technology to produce images. The main benefits are, they consume less power and have a low weight. LCD TV screens are also used frequently as computer monitors.

LCD TV's are similar to plasma tv's. But Plasma TV's are superior to LCDs with respect to their size and viewing angles. Most of the lcd TV screens have a 140 degree viewing angle from side to side, but a plasma TV has a 160 degree viewing angle, which means that you can view the picture on the screen from almost anywhere in the room. The size of an LCD TV is relatively smaller than a plasma TV. Bigger LCD TV's are available with more than one LCD panel fitted together. But such LCD TV's have a depth of 18? to 20?. Hence when you compare between plasma and an LCD TV, plasma TV's have greater resolution and can display SXG, SVG A, HD and VG A signals. Plasma TV's are also available in wide screen format, so they work well with HDTV and DVDs.

LCD TV's come in sizes below 32 inches but plasma TV's are available only above 32. However if you happen to spend many hours at the front of your screen playing video games, and use the screen as a computer monitor, then an lcd TV is the best and safe option. Both LCD and plasma TV's have a half life of 60,000 hours.
