The video card is actually a kind of separate card that is injected in the motherboard of the computer. The use of this video card replaces the graphic controllers which are usually placed in the motherboard in the form a chip. These graphic controllers are also said to be integrated graphics processor. The main function of the video card is to convert or generate the images to create displays. Though its functions are different to a great extent but still the principles on which it works are similar to that of a sound card and some other secondary devices.
