Last night I reviewed yet another make money online email promising the earth. It nearly sucked me in. It had its own marketing system built-in and all I had to do was to sign up, pay my money, put in my links and hey ! presto - I will make money online in no time at all. As with all of these make money online offers I searched google and realized that I saw the same information on scam.com only a month ago!

I realised I was going around in circles - cluttering up my time with hopping from one make money online scheme to the next, not even realising that I was doubling up on my due diligence. What a time waster! Then is dawned on me what the real problem was. I was drawn to the siren call of gurus who scream that the only way your will make money online is through leverage. Now their logic at first appears sound. Quoting examples from John D Rockefeller to Seattle's wealthiest resident they say that you can only make it big through leveraging your efforts through others - then they make a quantum leap in logic to use this argument to support their one-up, two-up and multilevel plans for wealth creation.

Now when you look at these plans closely you will see that like a house undermined by floodwaters, it collapses eventually. Why? It's because the sale is really made to get the next distributor of the product, rather than to sell the product itself. When the distributors at the bottom of the pyramid crumble, the whole thing collapses. Similarly, when the next one-up or two-up prospect pool runs dry, then the recruitment, thus the selling chain, evaporates too. The foundation to support this so-called leverage collapses.

Think about it. Normal commercial operations are also pyramidal, but there is a fundamental difference - their structure is supported by far more revenue (money coming in) direct from their customers for their product than the costs incurred (money going out) by the people in the organization which invent, develop, manufacture, purchase, sell, distribute and administer the product they buy. Those at the top are leveraging their income on the time and effort of all the people below them, not just on their sales force. Even super-affiliates involved with direct sales of products online emulate centuries old proven wholesale to retail distribution channels. They can only have so much of the revenue pie so that enough is left for the direct seller.

Now let's look at direct selling online. In this case I am talking about selling information products over the net to end consumers without first finding the next distributor to do it for me. If there was a way to make money online, in increasing amounts, and do this through product volume to an ever-increasing number of customers, are we not achieving that holy grail called Residual Income that the School of Leverage promises?

Well, there is a way, and it is quite easy, and it is quick to learn. The method uses the power of the internet to locate customers who don't need to be sold to because they are ready to buy. There is a limitless supply of these people. I have found a resource that provides me with easy and quick methods to locate them, calibrated to make money online in the short, intermediate and long terms. This is contained in an ebook that is readily obtainable. It may not be the only ebook, or the best, but I believe it ranks in that elusive 10% of all information products that have any real value - when applied.

Does easy and quick mean no work. Not at all, massive work is needed to get set up and then the workload can taper off as the internet itself takes over and provides your true leverage to make money online. Massive work here will not be hard to do as short-term returns does wonders to your level of excitement and motivation - unlike those dreary hours spent checking scam sites on the next (or even rehashed) make money online wonder scheme.
