I wonder if you knew that visitors to your website form an instant opinion? And they form it about you and your offer. The opinion that is formed in this instantaneous way is done so subconsciously. It happens automatically. Your site visitors can't help themselves. This reaction comes regardless of the words and text on your web pages. And yet your visitor will still form their instant opinion without even reading a single word of your costly copy.
The quality of the images on your web page won't make any difference. Their quality doesn't affect in this instant opinion. You might think if you make an unrepeatable offer, that your visitor is bound to be swayed by that! I'm sorry, the instant opinion clicks in, and your brilliant offer lies unseen. This is because the initial reaction to your website is instant, and occurs the moment the page appears in the browser of your visitor. You might wonder what it is that is so important that it has this effect on your web page visitors? What causes the instant opinion may be a surprise to you. It's color. When your web page appears to your visitor, the colors you've used go to work on the subconscious of your visitors.
The reason this happens is because we all react psychological and intuitively to colors. There isn't anything we can do about this. Colors has an affect on each of us. As you will know, millions are spent by big companies in deciding the correct colors of new products and in their marketing campaigns. They invest this money as they know how the psychology of color works. In their business propositions, the big companies understand that the use of appropriate colors is a key element. And so it is in web design. The colors of your web pages also convey feelings and emotions to the subconscious mind of your visitors.
The color scheme on your web pages can tell your visitor different things. The colors could convey a negative message, in which case be prepared for your visitors to leave your site very quickly. This can happen even if the copy on your website is compelling. The chances are that visitors who are put off by your colors are unlikely to read your copy anyway. But all is not lost. In the same way that colors can be a turn off, it is possible to create a positive feeling through the use of colors. You may be aware, that the psychological impact of colors isn't a new phenomenon. In fact, it's been with us for years and years. No matter who we are, emotions are conveyed to our subconscious through the use of colors.
The trick is in conveying the right feeling. A certain color combination might convey a nice feeling. Yet another, could convey bad feeling. If you do this, then you will be conveying a trust, sense of belonging and warmth. If you get your colors wrong, you could be conveying negative feelings like distrust, rejection and coolness. The following list gives an idea of the emotions associated with their respective colors:
RED
Excitement, sense of power, strength, leadership, love, energy, danger etc
When designing your web pages, you ideally need to ensure that the color scheme you use is consistent with your offering. The subconscious mind of your visitors will automatically relate the color of your page with the message that's on it. If you give out a mixed message in terms of color and offer, the subconscious mind will not even attempt to reconcile the two. And you may never see them again. The important issue therefore is that it is essential the right color scheme is used on your website. If you do this, your website will produce the results you're looking for. In summary, the difference between the right and wrong color scheme on your website can be the difference between profit and loss.

Probably more than any other group, African-Americans feel victimized by the educational system. For them, lack of quality education means more than fund shortages, inefficient administrators, teacher shortages and an overall “broke” system. To African-Americans, lack of quality education also means the almost complete absence of a Black presence. From the failure to give Blacks credit for the contributions they have made to the development of this country, to the erasure of the Black element from the “American” way of life- to be educated in the United States is to relegate Black People to after thought status.
Additionally, we need to ask ourselves, “How often do schools use Black authored textbooks?” They are a rarity at best, from elementary school through graduate school. What about Black instructors who do not present a status quo perspective? They are at greater risk of coming under pressure or being fired because a Black perspective does not contribute to standardized testing objectives (which, by the way, are more arbitrary than most of us admit). Even worse, the much ballyhooed standardized objectives have produced disappointing results when compared to the education students receive in most advanced European countries. It should not be surprising, then, if some African-Americans think that the educational system is more concerned about protecting the white mythology than producing well-balanced students who can analyze and establish reasonable priorities.
With that line of thought in mind, I went in search of and discovered a web site that offers an educational perspective that I believe appeals to more Blacks in the United States than we want to believe. It is the home of Aset University. Blacks who feel slighted by the public and private education system are paying attention to educational philosophies that revolve around a Black core of classes, home schooling and a curriculum that is not the least bit geared toward satisfying standardized testing objectives or gaining accreditation recognition from status quo agencies.
On the home page of the site, there are links to Aset University and a list of the available courses. Those links take one to a menu that includes course names like Black Nationalism, Black History, Black Power Economics, Integration, Leadership, Profiles in Black, International Law, Black Psychology and others. Each course consists of from 10 to 17 class sessions that come closer to espousing an independent Black America than any I have ever seen. It is an educational paradigm, one of several I now know, that demonstrates a lack of esteem for not only the educational system in the United States, but status quo educators as well. And, it is not just critical of white educators and schools, but treads in uncomplimentary fashion on such heretofore hollowed ground as independent Black colleges and universities. For the love of money and maintenance of white power, they all teach Black students to forsake their Blackness in order to increase their chances of being a successful part of a hostile system. Aset University redefines success and makes it clear that Black students can experience a rewarding life without trivializing their roots and heritage.
Should the education system in the United States be as one sided as it is? I think millions of African-Americans think not. Will the country be hurt by a more multicultural approach? African-Americans probably don't think so. But status quo figures have made it clear that they think otherwise, and they are the ones who have to adjust in order to control the popularity of schools like Aset University. If adjustments are not made that render the status quo education more inclusive, the education process in the United States might be faced by some extremely diverse challenges in the very near future.
