London is located on the river banks of the thames, in the south east of great britain.



London has a rich history that goes back over 2,000 years. amid this time, the city has expanded to become one of the financial & cultural capitals of the world. its also suffered from the plague, devastating fire, civil war, and terrorism.

London suffered especially during world war two. It suffered severe damage from bombs during this time and hoards of 1000s of children in the city were evacuated out to the countryside to avoid the bombs. The most severe bombing occured during 7 September 1940 and 10 May 1941.

One of the most popular places to visit in London is Buckingham Palace, which has been the official residence of the monarchy since 1837. The palace was initially opened to visitors in 1993 & the changing of the guard has proven particularly popular with them. This ceremony occurs in the forecourt of buckingham palace at 11.30 every day in summer & every other day in the winter.

Buckingham Palace is found in Westminster & its accessible by bus and tube.

London is well known for its shopping, so you'll find everything from unusual independent shops and markets, to designer shops.

One of the city's most well known shops is Selfridges, which is situated on Oxford st. It was earliest opened in 1909 by Harry Selfridge, who wanted to make shopping fun instead of just a chore. He succeeded & the store now has 4 other branches in various cities throughout britain.

It goes without saying that the night life in London is some of the perfect in the world. there are countless clubs, live music venues, elite wine bars, cosy inns &Michelin starred restaurants to enjoy.

The Met Bar in the metropolitan hotel is one of the city's most well-known wine bars. The wine bar is so elite that its hotel guests and members only after 6pm. The wine bar is really popular with celebs, so you can do some wonderful star spotting there.
